Die process data can be exchanged via a serial interface or via attached ZM51 I/O modules. RF transmitter (HFS..) and RF receiver (HFE..) can be directly snapped onto the modem enclosure and be connected to the modem by an eight core ribbon cable connectors. The serial interface is built-in according to the specification of the socalled Bergbau Betriebsblatt BB22444 part 3 and part 4 as current loop interface (TTY). Optional the data exchange can be made with the RK512 procedure. The modem is controlled by a type 80C31 microcontroller. It s task is to buffer the incoming data stream of the TTY interface or from connected input modules, process the data application dependent and transmit it via the attached RF transmitter. On the opposite side the data stream received by the RF receiver is passed to the receive input of the modem and passed to the micro-controller. The received data are processed there again and then passed to the TTY interface (KL3 / KL4) or to connected output modules. The analogue part of the modem uses the FFSK method (Fast Frequency Shift Keying). By means of this the modem chip only requires a half-wave of the coding frequency to code or detect a symbol (bit). The identification frequencies of the modem are - at 2400 baud: 1200/2400 Hz - at 1200 baud: 1200/1600 Hz. The FFSK transmission signal comes on an eight-pole connector to the RF transmitter with a level of -6 dbm at 600 Ω. In addition the signal to activate/switch-on the RF transmitter (RTS = request to send) is lead also on this connector. Because the RTS signal, important for special multi-point connections, is not available on a normal interface according to BB22444, the micro-controller generates the signal out of the transmission data of the data terminal equipment (TXD). The RF receiver is connected through an eight-pole connector too. The digital circuits of the radio data modem MOD02 must be supplied with a 5 V system voltage (KL1.4 and KL1.5). 4 Connection MOD 02 RF transmitter and receiver are separately supplied by a 12 V power supply on the plug-in terminals KL1.1 and KL1.2. The two plug-in terminals (KL1.3/KL1.4) connected in parallel to this can be used to supply the transmit and receive circuit of the TTY interface. On the two-pole terminal (KL2) the received field strength signal (RSSI = KL2.1) is available. The TTY interface to the data terminal equipment is led to two additional plug-in terminals (KL3 & KL4) with RxD=KL3 and TxD=KL4. Via two internal DIP-FIX switches (S2 / S3) on the modems PCB the TTY signals can be inverted. Two light emitting diodes (TX / RX) show the current transmit or receive state of the modem. A 8-fold DIL switch serves to set the radio data modem ("Station") address (Switch 1 to 5), the operation mode Master or Slave for the application Remote Control (Switch 7 ON = Master, OFF = Slave) and to generate a RESET signal (Switch 8, ON = RESET). Attention: The marking on the representation of the DIL switch on the MOD02 enclosure (0 to 6, RE- SET) differs from the marking on the DIL switch itself (1 to 8). Z51 I/O Bus Interface P. 5 BB22444-Interface The Bergbau-Betriebsblatt BB part 3 and part 4 using the protocol DUST 3964R is basis of the interface specification between the radio data modem MOD02 and the respective communication partners. Through this the electrical specification, manner and count of the interface signals, the transmission protocol and the data frame formats are fixed. These can, however, be adapted on request to the different application areas of the modem MOD02 (e.g. remote radio controls, shaft radio communication, etc.) with special agreements/conventions. Power Supply Computer ZM51 I/O BUS Interface The modem MOD02 provides a ZM51 I/O BUS interface (ST2) to connect up to eight ZM51 I/O modules (The 5 V system voltage is provided by a Z51-FGW11E DC/DC converter). The connection is made with a ZM51 module connector cable (20-pole flat ribbon cable). 6 Data Terminal Interface The modem MOD02 provides a data terminal interface with TTL level. This interface can be used for test purposes. Installation and Assembly The MOD02 must be mounted into a housing that ensures a minimum protection of IP 54 in accordance with EN The internal wiring (inside the housing) must be carried out in accordance with section of EN 50020:2002. The installation of the modem must ensure that the air gap between bare parts of the intrinsically safe circuits and bare parts of the housing is 3 mm in minimum. Contacts of the outer intrinsically safe circuits must be placed in a way that all bare parts have a minimum distance of 50 mm from contacts or bare conductors of not intrinsically safe circuits or must be separated by a partition wall in accordance to of EN50020:2002. 13 Warning and safety instructions This explosion-proof intrinsically safe component, realized in safety-class group I, is designed for operation in hazardous firedamp areas. Please pay particular attention to the following warning and safety instructions: Any interconnection with other electric equipment must be separately certified. The equipment must be connected and installed in accordance with the prescribed (legal) installation instructions by a trained specialist, taking the specified protection class into account. This equipment must be connected and operated only with the specified voltage. For operation of the equipment in commercial facilities the local accident prevention regulations for electrical plants and operating supplies have to be observed. The equipment may only be operated in the ambient conditions specified. Unfavourable ambient conditions may damage the equipment and may possibly result into danger for the users life. Unfavourable ambient conditions could be: Air humidity too high (>75% rel., condensing) Moisture, dust (observe type of protection) inflammable gases, vapours, solvents, not covered by the protection class Ambient temperature too high (> +45 C) Ambient temperature too low (< -20 C). The ambient temperature for the equipment may not fall outside the specified range during operation. Keep only the specified operating modes. The equipment is intended for use in hazardous coal mining areas. Defective parts may be replaced only by original spare parts. Mounting and applying of additional parts is forbidden. Corrective maintenance may be executed only by the manufacturer or by a person apppointed by the manufacturer concluded with a renewed routine test of the equipment.
