4 Order information What needs to be indicated on the order? Delivery and billing address need to be indicated on the order. Orders from different countries of the EU need a valid tax ID number, please. Please transfer there data by . We do not use names from lists of a fax! The form on the page 65 shall serve as a support for ordering. You don t have to use the order form. You can send us your order by in your own words. However it should contain all the information required on the order form. Prices We bill according to the price lists on our website. These are identical with the lists in our catalogue (year of publication 2010). Please fo not ask for a written quotation of prices allready indicated in our lists, unless it is absolutely necessary - Thanks! We thank you for your understanding and strive to offer always the best prices, while keeping the expenditure down. Extra Charges - Additional Charges Generally: We do not charge any extra costs by colour for the set up or printing!!! This distinguishes us signifi cantly from other suppliers. We process your data free of charge. However, should these have to be corrected or changed because of errors or for other reasons; we have to charge you for these extra efforts. But not to worry: we only do that if you are unable to deliver the correct data or wish a re-processing by us. Draft and Release We make drafts, respectively proof sheets, for name badges with logo and mail them to you for release. We start manufacturing as soon as we receive your release. Please note: We make drafts only for issued orders, not for inquiries (exceptions can be agreed upon beforehand). 74

Storage Service --- Print Service Storage service for name badges with engraving We offer a free storage service to our customers for name badges with engraved name. This service is available only for name badges with Logo print in Anodized subsurface print. This service has the following advantages: You can respond to changing head count on short notice. Word template Along with name badge seriers with paper inserts we also provide our newly developed printing software Scripper free of charge. On our delivery note/invoice you ll receive a link to the Login-area on our website with the applicable password. There you have the option to download the printing software Scripper resp. the suitable Word template for printing the paper inserts. For resellers we keep a neutral version ready. Print sheets for name badges for labeling With all our delivered name badges you receive generally one set of paper inserts on pre-perforated DIN A4 sheets free for charge. Additional print sheets can be ordered at the same time as needed. The minimum order quantity is 5 sheets. 8 Printing and labeling methods Depending on the requirements we use different printing and labeling methods. The defi nition of task often dictates the combined application of the two methods. Following the features of the various printing and labeling methods are basically described. Engraving: Engraving is used when labeling with changing text lines or consecutive numbering. The deep engraving is fi lled in with ink. Even if the colour is taken off with solvent, the lettering remains clearly visible. Particularly with smaller quantities the strength of the engraving is clearly shown to advantage. Various materials, such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass, acrylic glass and laminate plastics are here processed. Application with: - Machine plates - Type plates - Name badges - Cloak room tokens - Company signs - Door plates - Hotel key tags Laser Engraving With CO² lasers are being used to produce labeling on different materials by use of a laser beam. With stainless steel and silver aluminium however only a kind of anthracite-coloured lettering is possible. With other materials the colour beneath the top layer becomes visible, for example with aluminium blue anodized the lettering becomes silvery-white, changing text lines or consecutive numberings are doable. Photos can be reproduced by screened lasering. Eloxalunterdruck This production process is a special screen printing technique on aluminium sheet with an open-pore surface are being used. Using this material with pates will result in a prodict with very high durability. By sealing of the anodic coating after the printing process we can ensure the scratch-proof and solvent-resistant. This production process is used for industrail plated and name badges as well as cloak room tokens with logo. However there is one limitation: white cannot be printed and it can only be printed on aluminium silver. Colour gradients are printed in half tone printing. The text fi les and logos are needed as vector fi les preferably in EPS format (please refer to page 7) and the colour indications according to Pantone, HKS or RAL. Application with: - Machine plates - Type plates - Name badges - Company signs - Acrylic blanks cuts Application with: - Machine plates - Type plates - Name badges - Cloak room tokens with logo - Company signs - Front panels Silkscreen print Silkscreen printing can be applied on aluminium, plastic, acrylic glass and stainless steel. During this process the individual colours are printed consecutively with aid of screens. Silkscreen print is the only printing method, which can print white. Silkscreen printing is not solvent-resistant. For better colours fi delity we need exact colour indications according to Pantone, HKS or RAL. Colour gradients are printed in half tone printing. The text fi les and logos are needed as vector fi les preferably in EPS format (please refer to page 7). Application with: - Machine plates - Type plates - Name badges - Cloak room tokens with logo - Company signs Thermo print digital printing At this process a medium is printed digitally and being transferred on to the plate under heat and pressure. After that the colour is being burned in at approx. 180 C. For this aluminium or acrylic glass are being used especially with name badges. Photos can be reproduced realistically multi coloured. This printing method is therefore especially well suitable for colour gradients. With digital - thermal printing white cannot be printed. The text fi les and logos are needed as vector fi les preferably in EPS format ( please refer to page 7) and to be on the safe side with colour indications (according to Pantone, HKS or RAL). 9 Data and fi les - how and what for? Silkscreen print and Anodized subsurface print For these printing processes we need vector graphics. The most common format of this fi le ist the EPS format. This format has been developed by Adobe and is applicable for many production platforms, where graphics are processed. An EPS vektor fi le contains paths, which are normally not visible to the amateur. These can be made visible with the common graphic programs such as Coral, Adoble Illustrator and Freehand. Path view Standard view Besides the before mentioned EPS fi le, the following fi les are also processible: Coral fi les (cdr) up to version X4 or Illustrator fi les (ai) up to version 9. Some pdf fi les can be vector graphics as well. A pixels file doesn t contain any paths! Therefore it is not suitable for the generation of fi lms or screens. The following fi les are always pixel fi les: jpg, gif, bmp, tif, snf and png fi les. Pixels fi les with its usual grainy appearance Generally: the mentioned fi le formats for vector graphics should contain vector graphics. On the other hand, it is possible that a pixel fi le has been only saved in those formats and so it contains no paths but only pixels and is therefore not usable for the printing process. Thermo print digital printing With the vector fi les described above we get best results with digital - thermal print. However, pixel fi les with a resolution of approx. 300 dpi are also suitable. Please note: internet fi les usually have a resolution of 72 dpi only and are therefore not usable! Engraving and Laser Engraving Here too, vector fi les are our favorite. But we can process pixel fi les as well if they are of good quality, because we transform respectively refi nish those in our CAD system. However this means more labor and therefore slightly higher costs. Text data makes up a big part of engraving. These are needed for instance when personalizing name badges or for non consecutive numbering with industrial labels or cloak room tokens. Here either an Excel spreadsheet or in case of names also a Word spreadsheet are processible. PLEASE NOTE: We have made quite some experiences with Excel spreadsheets! Therefore here a little remarks: a spreadsheets consists of columns where names and non consecutive numbers are written line by line, one below the other. These should not contain any unnecessary commas, spaces or other wildcards since we read and process these data in our CAD Engraving system. Therefore please make sure your spreadsheets are faultless in order to avoid manufacturing faults. DXF data for Industrial labels These are usable as well, when prepared correctly. However, frequently there are only the draft data with all dimensions and comments being saved. This makes the processing very elaborate because we need to invest lots of time for the deletion of the dispensable data. Fonts are often not converted into curves/paths. This leads to faulty representation when opening the fi le. A word to the MAC user: We work with WIN PCs, since most industrial facilities work on this basis. 7
