5 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS DIMENSIONS Dimensions of complete bays in available modules and heights can be found in each catalogue section which include complete configurations. See index page for overview. MOUNTING TOLERANCES The tolerances of the increments of the column limit the number of shelving bays, which can be built together. Generally the tolerances permit up to 0 successive bays. Above 0 bays it is advised to continue with a starter bay. MAXIMUM LOAD Steel top shelf without backedge - max. load of kg. Steel shelf with backedge - max. load of 80 kg. Wooden top shelf without backedge - particleboard - max. load of kg. Wooden shelf with backedge - block board - max. load of 80 kg. MOBILE SHELVINGS/CASTORS Only double-sided shelving units with a max. height of 5 and maximum bays can be mounted with castors. Castors are available with or without brakes. Max. load of 60 kg per castor. EXTENSIONS FOR UPRIGHTS are used to increase the capacity. Enables an extra layer of shelves. Available for single- and double-sided uprights. Can be used for uprights of max. height of 9. STABILITY All uprights are provided with adjustable feet that can be adjusted even when the system is loaded. ROUNDED EDGES All storage units and brackets have rounded edges. ASSEMBLY No special fittings or tools are needed. STEEL POWDER COATING Steel components are powder coated mainly with thermo hardened polyester powder. Depending on colour choice some powders include epoxy. Thickness of the coating is my. PAINTED WOODEN COMPONENTS are made of MDF (medium density fibre board) which is painted with acid lacquer. 6 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS STEEL COMPONENTS STEEL UPRIGHTS are made of steel square tubes. The freestanding single- and double-faced uprights are available in two strengths which are recommended based on load carrying requirements. Choose between configurations with either 60 x mm or 80 x mm external dimensions. The upright is mm thick and the welded foot is mm thick. The uprights allow a wide range of shelves and other functions to be mounted in a row of punched holes with a distance of mm. The uprights are provided with plastic caps to close the tube ends. The uprights are also provided with adjustable feet, adjustable to a max. of mm. STEEL WALL STRIPS are made of mm steel coils. The uprights allow a wide range of shelves and other functions to be mounted in a row of punched holes with a distance of mm. STEEL CROSSBARS are made of. mm sheet steel. The crossbars are with hooks for easy connection to uprights. The uprights are connected with crossbars for each bay. 9 DESIGN OPTIONS STEEL PARTS (Uprights, crossbars, brackets, shelves, functions, kickplates, light housing) The steel parts can be produced in standard steel colours at no extra charge. The only exceptions are Mango (#7), Copper (#) and City Grey (#6) that have a % price supplement. The steel parts can also be powder coated in other colours with the following surcharges: Starter fee for RAL colours: 0 + surcharge of 5%* Starter fee for NCS colours: 60 + surcharge of 5%* Starter fee for custom colours: 60 + surcharge** *A higher surcharge for colours with metallic look or different surface textures must be expected. **Surcharge depends on supply channel and project size. Note Steel gloss range is between 60 and 80, except for Champagne Mist (Eurobib off-white), that has steel gloss range between -5. Special requests outside this gloss range are not covered by the above surcharges. Chrome, electro galvanised and aluminium parts are not available in other colours. Please note that other configurations are available. 60/ Expo is available as both single- and double-sided and as starter- and add-on bay (maximum bays). It consists of components, which are used for the classic shelving configurations along with a series of specific 60/ Expo components. 60/ Expo is made of steel uprights, painted wooden shelves and acrylic display shelves. The steel uprights and painted wooden shelves are available in all our standard colours. Choose between round or straight shelving corners. Before building your shelf you must know the height and shelf depth of your finished shelving. See from page 66. UPRIGHT EXTENSIONS, KICK PLATES, CROSS BARS & CASTORS Nearly all of these components are necessary (except castors) when constructing your shelving. See page 68. SHELVES & BRACKETS There are many variables to consider when choosing shelves: vertical or sloping, wood or steel, with or without backedge and finally with or without top panel. 105 LONDON END PANELS & TOP SHELVES The London concept which consists of end panels and top shelves is designed to create a frame around the series of 60/ steel shelving bays. The concept is available in wood and steel. We recommend a maximum of 0 bays for London shelving systems. London Wood London wooden end panels and top shelves are available in mm MDF painted in any colour. The wooden top shelf is available for, or bays. A flat aluminium profile is attached on the front of the end panel for protection. The aluminium profile is painted in the specified colour. The profiles are mounted on the front edge of the end panels using visible euro screws which are painted in the specified colour. An optional steel kick plate can be added below the bottom shelf and will support the framed look. See Design Options for colour specifications.
