SETUP "DICOM" In this register, all necessary data for the DICOM communication are registered. 43

GENERAL Fundamental setups which VARIOIMAGE needs for the DICOM communication. Local AET IP Port Receive asynchrony Setup the Application Entity Title (AET) with the VARIOIMAGE identifies itself at other Dicom nodes. Setup of the TCP/IP port at which VARIOIMAGE is attainable for other Dicom nodes. (standard port 104) Asynchronous receipt makes it possible that more Dicom nodes can send at the same time to VARIOIMAGE. With asynchronous receipt transmission rate decreases, because several connections must be administered at the same time. QUERY/RETRIEVE These setup is needed for the execution for Dicom Query/Retrieve. Local AET Move AET Application Entity Title (AET) with the VARIOIMAGE identifies itself at other Dicom nodes. Application Entity Title (AET) to that the Dicom nodes sends. DEFAULT STORAGE CLASS PROVIDER These setups are necessary to archive images with DICOM-send. Node/IP Address IP Port Remote AET Network name or IP address of the archive. Setup of the TCP/IP port at which the archive is attainable for other Dicom nodes. (standard: Port 104 or Medistore Port 1111) Application Entity Title (AET) of the archive. 44

DEFAULT QUERY/RETRIEVE SERVICE CLASS PROVIDER These setups are necessary for the query/retrieve of images from the archive. These setup usually are equal to those at Default Storage Class Provider Use retrieve directly to memory Makes it possible to show images from the archive, without storing these into the local data base. Retrieve directly to memory on doubleclick Retrieve directly to memory via C-GET Archive is Medistore2000 Write Sendlog Show Dicom-Login Menue Dicom-Echo on picture-click only Makes it possible to show images from the archive on double click, without storing these into the local data base. Switch between the transmission methods C-GET and C-MOVE. This setup adds a direct transfer at the Application Entity Title (AET) of VARIOIMAGE (e.g. Viewer2Direct). This Application Entity Title (AET) have to be admits at the archive. Choose it for logging the send activities in an extra send log. Choose to see the DICOM log in an extra window. Activate an DICOM echo, which is send, if the overview is changed from local data base to archive. Not each archive can answer accordingly to an echo. Medistore2000 can answer this echo accordingly. VARIOIMAGE is blocked for 60 seconds, wait for an answer coming from archive. 45

SETUP "PRINTING" In this register one or more Dicom printers can be registered. The configured adjustments (print format, Orientation, etc.) can be adapted before each printing. 46

PRINTER These setups are necessary for print DICOM images. Printer Alias Node Name/IP Address Port Number AE Name Calling AE Name to Use Bit Depth Print Format Orientation Film Size Magnification Type Back Color Save Name of printers, with which it can be selected in VARIOIMAGE. Network name or IP address of the printer. Setup of the TCP/IP port at which the printer is attainable for other Dicom nodes. Application Entity Title (AET) of the printer. setup of the AET, with which VARIOIMAGE identifies itself at the printer. Bit depth of the printer (8 or 12 Bit) setup of the print format, how many images are printed on one side or film (standard: columns, rows). switch between the page layout portrait (portrait format) or landscape (landscape format). setup the film size, on which is printed. setup the magnification type. setup the background colour of the print preview. store setup of the selected printer. 47
