In AutoCAD, Select the A in the menu bar (invokes the M-TEXT command) Place m-text box in your drawing to define the text location. PATH= S:\In-house\Cadd\Std-Blocks\ SECTION-BBL-TAIL See appendices for additional symbols and standards. Page 1 of 1

12 Section BACKGROUND SET-UP 1. A scanned drawing (used to show existing entities) shall be inserted on the layer called scan. The color used on this layer is 253 (light gray). (See Section 8.0, Scan Management) 2. Entities drawn to show something existing, use the color 252 (slightly darker than 253) on layer called existing. Note: scan uses a lighter color because the thickness of lines and the line quality of a scan will make it appear darker while using the drawn entity color 252. Page 1 of 1

13 8.0 SCAN MANAGEMENT Section Scans should be placed in the Dwgs folder. (save scans in the same folder as the project drawings) 2. All Scanned drawings to be added to AutoCAD Files should be saved as a.tif file type. (1-bit Line art) 3. Before inserting scan, name the scan in reference to the drawing name and view of drawing. Example: 01 1_Plan 01-1 = Drawing name _Plan = View of drawing being shown. (i.e. Plan, Section, Elevation, etc.) See Section 8.1 on reducing your TIF file size before use. Page 1 of 1

14 8.1 Reducing.TIF file sizes with Wise Image. Wise Image Pro will reduce your TIF file by selecting a compression when doing a Save or Save As (Select the same location and name and overwrite original) 1.
