ATLAS Corneal Topography Product Overview Model 9000
ATLAS Model 9000 Overview Next-generation corneal topography system Small footprint, self-contained, no external PC required Modern Windows XP platform Highly accurate Proven Placido disk technology, found in more than 5,000 ATLAS systems worldwide Patented surface reconstruction Easy to use Delegate topography to staff Reproducible results independent of operator technique
ATLAS Placido Disk Technology Ideal Placido disk design means reliable results for a wide range of patients Large diameter, closely spaced rings minimizes ring jam found in smallcone systems Optimized for the range of corneas expected in clinical practice Superior alignment through triangulation with patented Cone-of- Focus Removes axial positioning uncertainty Enables automatic correction of operator focus and positioning error
Accuracy via the Arc-Step Method Arc-Step Method Throws a net over cornea, reconstructing cornea where net intersects itself Ensures accurate transition from ring to ring Minimal residual error Only the ATLAS performs multiple iterations of triangulation (the Van Saarloos Variant) to minimize any residual error
Designed for Practitioner and Patient Easy to use Long working distance (70 mm) is less sensitive to alignment error Comfortable for the patient Does not enter patient s orbit Non-visible infrared (IR) ring illumination for increased patient comfort and corneal coverage Unique chinrest positions patient for wide peripheral coverage and automatically detects OD/OS
Model 9000 Key Enhancements SmartCapture Technology Pupillometry at 2 levels of illumination HVID (white to white) measurement Corneal wavefront analysis Mean curvature analysis Customizable to user preferences
SmartCapture Technology Analyzes 15 digital images/sec. during alignment Automatically selects best image Improved image processing provides more repeatable, reliable results Less dependence on operator technique means greater efficiency and fewer repeat exams
Pupillometry and HVID Measurement Understand pupil size changes in different light conditions: Scotopic (no light) Photopic (700 nm) Simplify contact lens selection with automatic Horizontal Visible Iris Diameter (HVID, or white to white ) measurement
Standard Views/Maps Axial Curvature Tangential Curvature Simulated Keratometry Videokeratoscopic Refractive Power Mean Curvature
Standard Views/Maps (cont.) Elevation (Best-Fit Sphere) Irregularity (Best-Fit Ellipsoid) Corneal Wavefront Image Simulations, Point Spread Function Modulation Transfer Function Zernike Analysis
Standard Displays Single View Overview OD/OS Compare Trend with Time Difference Custom
Clinical Applications of ATLAS Corneal Topography
Detect and Manage Pathology Axial map reveals a displaced corneal apex and inferior steepening, which standard keratometry at 3 mm would have missed. Irregularity map, relative to a best-fit ellipsoid, highlights surface irregularities that may limit bestspectacle corrected visual acuity. Elevation map shows a 29 micron protrusion above a best-fit reference sphere. Mean Curvature map eliminates corneal astigmatism, highlighting underlying features, such as this cone peak.
Track Corneal Health for Improved Care Axial map reveals inferior steepening and corneal warpage from years of wearing an improperly fit RGP contact lens with a highly aspheric back surface. The cornea was allowed to normalize over approximately 4 months and returned to a normal appearing astigmatic shape. Image simulation displays higher-order corneal aberrations and confirms patient s complaints of severe spectacle blur. Image simulation shows the improvement in visual acuity with a reduction in higher-order aberrations.
Assess Higher-Order Aberrations with Corneal Wavefront Analysis Visualize corneal aberrations such as coma, trefoil, and spherical aberration Educate patients about higher-order aberrations, which may limit best spectacle-corrected visual acuity Assess retinal image with: Image Simulation Point Spread Function Modulation Transfer Function
Optimize Aspheric IOL Selection Calculate corneal spherical aberration Z(4,0) for optimizing aspheric IOL selection Understand changes in corneal aberrations with varying pupil size to simulate scotopic, photopic, and mesopic lighting conditions
Future Optional Software Modules PathFinder II Corneal Analysis - Next-generation screening tool for detection of keratoconus and other corneal conditions, based on a comprehensive normative database MasterFit II Contact Lens - Simplify the fitting of RGP lenses and minimize chair time with this advanced contact lens fitting software ATLAS Review Software - Same functionality as ATLAS 9000 software, except for image acquisition or editing. - Compatible with data from ATLAS 993/995 topographers EMR Export - Automatically export exams to your EMR Not Available for Sale
