2 EFFICIENCY AND BETTER WORKFLOW Your Cataract Workstation! The new Pentacam AXL is an alliance of the time-tested Pentacam technology with high-precision measurement along the visual axis. Contact-free optical biometry from the corneal surface to the retina. The compact Pentacam AXL provides cataract surgeons with diverse measuring options for optimal IOL calculation: P A PA Pentacam measurements The gold standard in anterior segment tomography, the Pentacam, carefully measures the front and back surfaces of the cornea, total refractive power, and corneal thickness, and performs a complete anterior segment analysis. Axial length measurements The high-precision optical biometer measures the axial length for the IOL power calculation. Combined measurements: Pentacam + Axial length Both measurements are captured in succession along the same axis, using the same alignment. Anterior segment tomography + Axial length measurement + IOL calculation = Pentacam AXL Providing better quality of care to all your patients! With the Pentacam AXL, you can obtain reliable measurements for your cataract patients, including the more challenging cases of pre-treated eyes (LASIK, PRK, RK, etc.). Special IOL calculation formulas are available to assist you in successful IOL calculations. Ease of use and accuracy Accurate alignment in front of the patient s eye is essential for the quality and reproducibility of measurements. The software guides this process through graphical instructions, triggering measurements automatically once the optimal position is reached.
3 NEW! MEASUREMENT OF AXIAL LENGTH Axial Length Measurement and Built-in IOL Calculation Axial length measurement with Pentacam precision! Once measurements are complete, all relevant data including the axial length, K values, anterior chamber depth, and corneal diameter are automatically transferred to the IOL calculation software. This eliminates manual processing errors. During measurement of axial length, additional images of the eye are taken. Depiction of blood vessels using green illumination and of iris structure under infrared illumination facilitates correct alignment of the toric IOL during the surgical procedure. Optimization of constants aims towards continuous performance improvement Long-term performance improvement is only possible if you constantly assess the results of your work. This is the approach taken by the Pentacam AXL. Via intuitive menu navigation, you optimize the IOL constants of your preferred calculation formula step by step for continuous improvement of post-refractive outcomes and hence satisfied patients.
