3 Personalized Stapes Instruments with Color Ring The concept for a more structured OR! The correct handover of micro instruments during ear surgery requires extensive experience on the part of the OR personnel as it is often difficult to differentiate between very fine instrument tips with the naked eye. The instrumentation staff is also expected to perform a variety of tasks in the contemporary OR environment which makes the correct handover of instruments more complicated. Furthermore, the surgical tray assembly process is more susceptible to error at the central sterile services department. The color ring system helps provide clear identification of fine micro instruments at all times, particularly at the operating table. This improves quality and also saves time. Prof. Dr. med. R. However, clear identification of very fine micro instruments is not always possible with the naked eye. The new Stapes instruments with color coding allow customization to individual needs: One color can be selected for each instrument One, two or three color rings can be used to denote instrument sizes the color blue, for example, can be selected for 90 ear hooks and sizes 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm and 0.4 mm can be denoted with one, two or three color rings on the handle the following colors are available for selection: Red, yellow, black, white, blue, rose, pink, orange and green Cost-neutral personalized instruments 4
