11 COLOR A phenomenon of light (as red, brown, pink, or gray) or visual perception that enables one to differentiate otherwise identical objects. (Webster s New Collegiate Dictionary, #1a.) The aspect of objects and light sources that may be described in terms of hue, lightness, saturation (Webster s New Collegiate Dictionary, #1b.) Pigments used in painting and other visual arts with reflected light. The three primary colors being,red, Yellow, and Blue, of which the other colors can be mixed. The two color theories refer to reflected light and direct light. They are often depicted with a light prism and color wheel.
