1 23rd April Dear teachers, Examinations time has arrived once more - the deadline for handing in papers is Friday, 8th May Kindly give me a copy of the printed paper, no papers are to be sent by . The pdf version is to be collected at a later date. As usual, those teachers who will be sharing the correction of the same paper, please inform me beforehand in order for me to be able to make the necessary arrangements for the jackets. Also let me know if you need any graph paper, etc... to be used during the exam session. *EXAM SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE JUNE 2015 SESSION: In the space beneath the logo, insert Name: only if students are to write on the paper. If not, after Subject:, write the subject name, followed by ADV or INT 1st, depending on the level being examined. Write the page number using the format Page X of Y at the bottom centre of each page. Use font Times New Roman pt 12. Do not insert any pages with blank lines, students can use the foolscaps to write on. Please ensure that the exam total (written paper + any practicals or orals) amounts to 100 marks. Attached, please find the logo to be used.

2 Subject: Art Advanced Level Time: 3 Hours PRACTICAL EXAM: Create a drawing/painting from the still-life presented. You are free to interpret it in your favourite medium/media. Soft pastels and charcoal must be fixed. Attention should be given to composition, form, texture and the representation of light/dark contrast. Good use of medium/media will gain you marks.

3 Subject: Art Advanced Level Time: 3 Hours History of Art This Paper has TWO sections. Candidates are to answer the TWO sections and are required to answer in essay form. Section (i): Critical Analysis You are are expected spend 1 hr on this section. You are to write an in-depth critical analysis on ONE of the five works listed here and shown in the provided visual presentation. You are expected to place the work in its general stylistic and historical context, discuss the artistic contribution of the author (when known) the iconography and meaning, and the formal and technical characteristics of the work. 1. You are to discuss, compare and contrast the works selected by referring to aspects including subject matter, iconography, social, political and religious frameworks of the time which led to the production of such works. Elements pertaining to technique should also be included. You are encouraged to support your arguments by making reference also to works of art not included in the list featuring in the syllabus. 1.
