1 th Annual Choctaw Indian Arts Show April 1, 2018 Dear Artist: On behalf of Chief Gary Batton, Assistant Chief Jack Austin Jr., and members of the Tribal Council, I welcome you to the Fifteenth Annual Choctaw Indian Arts Show. The purpose of the Choctaw Art Show is to promote awareness of our Choctaw culture and history through the arts and to showcase our Choctaw artists and their work. This show undergoes analysis each year to make it the best it can be for Choctaw Artists. Please read the entry instructions carefully. A Photo Use Release form is in the packet this year. We often want to use images from the show to promote future shows and our outstanding Choctaw artists throughout the year. This form simply states that we may use likenesses of your work to promote the event in the form of posters, Facebook posts, or similar means. Should you have any questions or concerns about the new form, please give me a call. The Heritage Awards (3) will be a monetary award again this year. This award will go to items that are culturally correct, and promote the heritage and culture of the Choctaw tribe. The show will be a two day show. All participants must agree to leave artwork for the two clays of the show. Rules are posted under CATEGORIES within the art packet. Don t forget that your $10.00 entry fee allows you to enter 3 items. These three items can be entered in one category or three different categories. Please feel free to call or write if I can be of any assistance or answer any questions. I can be contacted via sgarner@choctawnation.com or , Ext or Best Regards, Shelley Tate Garner Labor Day Art Show Coordinator Cultural Services
