3 Let s Begin This pattern uses the Salute to America panels that will be available in January. There are three different digital panels to choose from Paradise featured in this project, Heartland, and Back Country. Inspirational quilts using the other panels are shown on bottom of page 2. The placement of fabrics are different in these quilts, our instructions are f the Paradise version only. The instructions are f two quilts, one can be displayed on the wall and the other on the table make one f yourself and one as a gift. Befe you begin read all instructions. Referring to project Cutting Chart, cut First Cuts strips as indicated in chart then cut smaller pieces listed under Next Cuts from these strips. Use an accurate 4"-wide seam allowances and assembly line method to construct this quilt. Press seams in direction of arrows as indicated in each diagram. 4. Sew one unit from step 1 between two units from step 3 as shown. Press. Sew this unit between two units from step 3. Press. Make four. 5. Sew one unit from step 4 between two Fabric E cner triangles. Press seams toward Fabric E. Sew this unit between two Fabric E triangles as shown. Press. Make four. Making the Quilts (Makes 2) 1. Sew one Fabric A square between two x Fabric B strips as shown. Press. Sew this unit between two x &2" Fabric B strips. Press. Make four. &2" 2. one 2 Fabric C square in half diagonally wrong sides together. again in half diagonally as shown. Press. Make twenty Prairie Points. 6. Sew one unit from step 5 between two x Fabric G strips. Press. Make four. 0 Praire Points 3. Align one prairie point from step 2 along one Fabric D cner triangle edge as shown centering triangles and matching raw edges. Make sixteen units. 4 7. Sew one x &2" Fabric G strip to one unit from step 6 as shown. Press. Make four, two of each variation. 10. Sew one x " Fabric A piece between two 2 x Fabric D strips as shown. Sew this unit between two w" x &2" Fabric D strips as shown. Press. Make two " w" w" &2" &2" &2" 11. Sew one unit from step 10 between two units from step 9 as shown. Press. Make two. 8. Sew one unit from step 7 between two x ^" Fabric H strips as shown. Press. Make four, two of each variation. Block 1A ^" Block 1B ^" 12. Make Fabric D Prairie Points. &2" square in half diagonally wrong sides together. again in half diagonally. Press. Make four. Align one prairie point from this step and one Fabric C prairie point from step 2 on one Fabric B large triangle edge as shown centering triangles and matching raw edges. Stitch in place using one of these options. Make four. Option 3 9. one 2" Fabric D square in half diagonally wrong sides together. again in half diagonally as shown. Press. Make four Prairie Points. Align one prairie point one Fabric D triangle edge as shown centering triangles and matching raw edges. Baste in place. Make four. 13. Sew one unit from step 11 between two units from step 10 as shown. Press. Make two. Praire Points 4

5 14. Sew one unit from step 13 between two large Fabric F cner triangles. Press seams toward Fabric F. Sew this unit between two large Fabric F cner triangles as shown. Press. Make two. Finishing the Quilt 1. Cut backing fabric piece into four equal pieces. Sew two pieces together to make one 24" x 80" approximate backing piece. Press and trim backing to measure 24" x 80". Make two. 2. : Press backing and quilt top trimming all excess threads. Layer and baste backing, batting, and quilt top together. Hand machine quilt as desired. Bind quilt as desired. 15. Sew one unit from step 14 between two x &2" Fabric G strips as shown. Press. Make two. &2" : Layer and center quilt top and backing right sides together on batting piece (wrong side of backing on batting). Using 14"-wide seam, stitch around all edges, leaving a 5" opening on one side f turning. Trim batting close to stitching and backing even with quilt edges. Clip cners, turn, and press. Hand stitched opening closed. Quilt as desired. 16. Arrange and sew together two x )2" Fabric H strips, two units from step 8, and one unit from step 15 )2" 5
