Place the outer front and back right sides together, matching seams. Sew down the right side of the bag from the top stop 1 ½ from the bottom and leave an opening for the strap. Sew sides and bottom together with a ½ seam allowance, leaving a 3 opening in the bottom for turning later to make the lining (Fig. 5). Page 2 8. With a seam ripper carefully open both seams along the reinforced stitches from Step 4 at the top of the outer bag between the ¼ and 1 ½ top stitching from Step 4 to make the strap channel (Fig. 8) Open the side seam between the top stitch on both sides Fig Place the outer bag and lining right sides together. Line up the side seams of the bag and lining. Sew together the two layers around the top edges with a ½ seam (Fig. 6) Fig Piece two 3 x WOF Fabric strips (Fabric D for Version ) together and cut to measure 3 x 66 to make the strap. Press the strap in half lengthwise. Open with wrong side facing up fold right side 66 cut edge to center pressed seam, repeat for left side. Fold in half a second time, now the strap should be ¾ wide. Press in place. Repeat for second strap. Top stitch ⅛ from the outside edge for both straps. 10. Take one strap and feed it through the left side of the strap channel and completely around the bag and back out the same opening (Fig. 9). Fig Turn the bag and lining right side out. DO NOT close the opening in the lining yet. Press the top seam and top stitch ¼ down from the top edge and again 1 ½ down from the top edge (Fig. 7). 1 ½ Fig. 9 Fig. 7

5 Score! Page 13 ackpack 11. Repeat step 10 with the remaining strap and start through the right opening (Fig. 10). Fig Insert the straps from the right side into the right slit opened in Step 2 (Fig. 11). Trim to desired length if needed. Pin straps in place. 13. Repeat step 12 for the left side straps. Slide the handle ending into the opening from left in Step 2 Fig Turn the bag and lining inside out again and go through the lining opening from Step 4. From the inside of the bag stitch and reinforce the slit closed catching the straps and holding them in place. Repeat the other side and strap. 15. Turn the bag right side out and stitch the opening in the lining closed Henry Glass & o., Inc.
