Sew (1) 2 ½ x 5 ½ abric strip to each side of (1) 5 ½ abric D square. Sew (1) 2 ½ abric square to each end of (1) 2 ½ x 5 ½ abric strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the abric D square to make (1) lock One (ig. 1). 4 Page 2 5. Sew the (3) rows together in numerical order to make the enter lock. 6. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 27 ½ abric strip to each side of the enter lock. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 29 ½ abric strip to the top and to the bottom of the enter lock. 7. Sew (1) 2 x 29 ½ abric strip to each side of the enter lock. Sew (1) 2 x 32 ½ abric strip to the top and to the bottom of the enter lock. 8. Sew (1) 4 ½ x 32 ½ abric strip to each side of the enter lock. Sew (1) 4 ½ abric square to each end of (1) 4 ½ x 32 ½ abric strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the enter lock to make the quilt top. 9. Layer and quilt as desired. 10. Sub-cut strip into (4) 6 ½ x 8 ½ backs. Mug Rug Instructions (Refer to igure 4 while assembling.) 12. Sew (1) 2 ½ abric square to each side (1) 2 ½ abric square to make Row One. Repeat to make Row Three. 13. Sew (1) 2 ½ abric square to each side (1) 2 ½ abric square to make Row Two. Repeat to make Row our. 14. Sew the (4) rows together in numerical order to make (1) Mug Rug top. 15. Repeat Steps to make (4) Mug Rug tops total. 16. Layer the Mug Rug Top and backing right sides together. Place (1) 6 ½ x 8 ½ piece of heat resistant batting on bottom of the layered pieces. Stitch around the three layers, leaving an opening for turning. 17. Turn the mug rug right side out and whip stitch the opening closed. 18. Repeat Steps to complete the remaining three Mug Rugs.
