4 orn to Sew Quilt 1 Page 2 Sewing nstructions 1. Sew (1) 2 x 7 Fabric strip to each side of (1) 7 Fabric A block. Sew (1) 2 x 10 Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A block. Trim the block to Fig. 3 make 12 Fig. 1 measure 9 ½ square to make (1) A block (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (12) A blocks total. 2. Sew (1) 3 x 9 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) A block. Sew (1) 3 Fabric strip to each end of (1) 3 x 9 ½ Fabric strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the A block to make (1) lock (Fig. 2). Repeat to make (12) locks total. Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. 4. Place another 2 ½ Fabric F square on the right side of the 2 ½ x 4 ½ Fabric E strip, right sides together (Fig. 5). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 5). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 6). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance to make (1) FEF unit. 6. Sew (1) 2 ½ x 5 ½ Fabric G strip to each end of (1) FEF unit to make (1) sashing strip (Fig. 7). Fig. 7 G Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.) 8. Sew (4) sashing strips and (3) locks together, alternating them, to make (1) lock row. Repeat to make (4) lock rows total. 9. Sew the (5) sashing rows and (4) lock Rows together, alternating them, to make the quilt top. 10. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 66 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 52 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 11. Sew (1) 6 ½ x 68 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 6 ½ Fabric square to each end of (1) 6 ½ x 52 ½ Fabric strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 12. Layer and quilt as desired. 13. Sew the (8) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 14. ind as desired. make Sew (4) 2 ½ Fabric squares and (3) sashing strips together end to end and alternating them to make (1) sashing row.
