From the each locks - lue (A), fussy cut: (8) 7 x 9 blocks. From the each Stuff - vory (), cut: (2) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut (6) 2 x 7 ½ strips. (2) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut (6) 2 x 8 ½ strips. From the Starfish- vory (acking), cut: (2) 51 x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 51 x 59 back. Sewing nstructions 1. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 9 Fabric strip to each side of (1) 7 x 9 Fabric A block. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 9 Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A block. Trim the block to measure 8 ½ x 10 ½ to make (1) lock One rectangle (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (8) lock One rectangles total. lock One make 8 From the ots - Red (), cut: (8) 1 ½ x WOF strips. Sub-cut (4) 2 x 8 ½ strips. From the Flip Flops - vory (F), cut: (2) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut (6) 2 x 7 ½ strips. (2) 2 x WOF strips. Sub-cut (6) 2 x 8 ½ strips. Fig Sew (1) 1 x 6 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) 4 ½ x 6 ½ Fabric C strip. Sew (1) 1 x 5 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric C strip to make (1) Unit 1 block (Fig. 2). Repeat to make a second Unit 1 block. 3. Sew (1) 1 x 6 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) 4 ½ x 6 ½ Fabric G strip. Sew (1) 1 x 5 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric G strip to make (1) Unit 2 block (Fig. 3). Repeat to make (6) Unit 1 blocks total. From the each Scene - vory (G), cut: (1) 4 ½ x WOF strip. Sub-cut (6) 4 ½ x 6 ½ strips. From the Waves - lue (), cut: (2) 1 ½ x 40 ½ WOF strips. (2) 1 ½ x 34 ½ WOF strips. 4 Page 2 4. Sew (1) 2 x 7 ½ Fabric strip to each side of (1) Unit 1 block. Sew (1) 2 x 8 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 1 block to make (1) lock Two rectangle (Fig. 4). Repeat to make a second lock Two rectangle. 5. Sew (1) 2 x 7 ½ Fabric F strip to each side of (1) Unit 2 block. Sew (1) 2 x 8 ½ Fabric F strip to the top and to the bottom of the Unit 2 block to make (1) lock Three rectangle (Fig. 5). Repeat to make (3) lock Three rectangles total. Sew (1) lock Two rectangle, (1) lock One rectangle, (1) lock Three rectangle and (1) lock One rectangle together lengthwise and in that order to make Row One. 8. Sew (1) lock One rectangle, (1) lock Three rectangle, (1) lock One rectangle and (1) lock Four rectangle together lengthwise and in that order to make Row Two. 9. Sew (1) lock Three rectangle, (1) lock One rectangle, (1) lock Four rectangle and (1) lock One rectangle together lengthwise and in that order to make Row Three. 10. Sew (1) lock One rectangle, (1) lock Four rectangle, (1) lock One rectangle and (1) lock Two rectangle together lengthwise and in that order to make Row Four. 11. Sew the (4) rows together in numerical order to make the Center lock. 12. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 40 ½ Fabric strip to each side of the Center lock. Sew (1) 1 ½ x 34 ½ Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center lock. 13. Center (1) 5 x 55 Fabric strip on (1) side of the Center lock and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. O NOT TRM T XCSS. Repeat with the opposite side. 14. Repeat Step 13 to sew (1) 5 x 47 Fabric strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center lock, making sure to stop and start ¼ away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the Center lock on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 7). 15. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 7), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼ seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top. 16. Layer and quilt as desired. Fig. 7 Quilt Top Folded on the iagonal 17. Sew the (5) 2 ½ x WOF Fabric strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 18. ind as desired.
