2 Line By Line Mittens to Gloves Notes: Fingerless mitts, mittens, half or full-fingered gloves, and convertible mittens are all built upon the same foundations, and this pattern gives you the tools to knit any of them! To use this pattern, begin with the Right Hand directions, and when it is time to choose your finger type, skip ahead to the specific instructions for the type desired. The sections covering the thumb and glove fingers include instructional photos to further aid the first time glove knitter. Depending on the type of mitten or glove knit and the size chosen, this kit will make two to three pairs. For your second pair, switch the a color with one of the other colors to ensure that you will have enough yarn. Choose Your Finger Style For Fingerless Mitts Join A and knit 1 round plain. With A, Work 5 rounds of K1, P1 ribbing, BO in rib. Continue to Thumbs section below. 3 For Half-fingered glove, Gloves, and convertible mittens The fingers will be knit one at a time, in the round, with the remaining hand stitches held on waste yarn while the finger is worked. The live stitches from the hand are picked up to knit the fingers, with a few extra sts cast on or picked up to connect the front and back of the glove.
