1 Some days you feel like a basket case, some days you don t. Here s a quilt that will give you hug whether you re a basket case, or not! This tradi onally pieced quilt measures 60 square when finished. The blocks are 15 finished and 15 1/2 unfinished. Page 1

Fabric Requirements for the quilt top shown, including Border and Binding 2 1/2 yards (includes Sashing & Border #1) Turquoise 2 1/4 yards (includes Border #2) Purple 1 yard (includes Binding) Cuts

2 Fabric Requirements for the quilt top shown, including Border and Binding 2 1/2 yards (includes Sashing & Border #1) Turquoise 2 1/4 yards (includes Border #2) Purple 1 yard (includes Binding) Cuts Needed for FIVE (5) Sugar Creek Quilt Blocks Sugar Creek Quilt Block Make FIVE (5) Color Turquoise Turquoise Purple Cuts Cut TEN (10) 2 1/4 squares. You will need TWO (2) of these squares per quilt block. Cut FORTY (40) 3 squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner tocorner, ONE (1) me. Cut TEN (10) 2 1/4 squares. You will need TWO (2) of these squares per quilt block. Cut FORTY (40) 3 squares. These will be paired with the Turquoise 3 squares to create half square triangles. Cut THREE (3) 11 1/4 squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner to corner, ONE (1) me. Cut FIVE (5) 11 1/4 squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner to corner, TWO (2) mes. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You need FOUR (4) of these triangles per quilt block. Cut THREE (3) 11 1/4 squares. These will be paired with the 11 1/4 squares to create SIX (6) half square triangles. (You only need FIVE (5) of these half square triangles in total for this quilt top.) Page 2

5 Cuts Needed for FOUR (4) Sun & Shadow Quilt Blocks Color Purple Cuts Cut TWENTY FOUR (24) 3 1/2 squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner to corner, ONE (1) me. Cut FOUR (4) 3 squares. You will need ONE (1) of these squares per quilt block. Sun & Shadow Basket Quilt Block Make FOUR (4) Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2 squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner to corner, ONE (1) me. You need TWO (2) of these triangles per quilt block. Cut TWENTY FOUR (24) 3 1/2 squares. These will be paired with the 3 1/2 squares to create half square triangles. You will need TEN (10) of these half square triangles per quilt block. Turquoise Cut FOUR (4) 8 1/2 squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner to corner, TWO (2) mes. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You will need FOUR (4) of these triangles per quilt block. Turquoise Cut ONE (1) 8 3/4 square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner to corner, TWO (2) mes. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You will need ONE (1) of these triangles per quilt block. 9 Finishing Instruc ons: 1) Add the Ver cal Sashing between the quilt blocks. 2) Add the Horizontal Sashing between the newly created quilt rows. 3) Add the Le & Right Border #1 to the newly created quilt top. 4) Add the Top & Bo om Border #1. 5) Add the Le & Right Border #2. 6) Add the Top & Bo om Border #2.
