2 Sizing Pattern is written in an Adult Size Medium/Large. Measuring around hand (do not include thumb): Gauge (Worked in the round, unblocked & unstretched) Finished Measurements (Laying flat) 5 Wide, at widest point (includes thumb) and 10 Long 1X1 Rib: (On smaller needle) 6.5st & 6 rnds per inch Stockinette: (On larger needle) 4 st & 5.5 rnds per inch Supplies (1) Balls of Vanna s Choice Tweeds in Barley OR Approx. 110 yrds of Aran weight yarn Size US #7 (4.5mm) 32 Circulars for Magic Loop OR size needed to obtain gauge Size US #10 (6mm) 32 Circulars for Magic Loop OR size needed to obtain gauge Cable Needle (if desired) Tapestry Needle Waste Yarn OR Small Stitch Holder Measuring Tape Scissors Methods 1X1 Tubular Cast On: You can use whatever method of Tubular CO you feel most comfortable with but I like using the Longtail one. 3 Stitches & Abbreviations co - cast on pg - page st - stitch/es k - knit p - purl pm - place marker sm - slip marker m1l - make one left m1r - make one right * * - Repeat what is between rep. - repeat 6-st LC - 6 stitch Left Cable 6-st RC - 6 stitch Right Cable ssk - slip, slip, knit K2tog - knit two together cn - cable needle - inches rnd/s - round/s pu - pick up Explanation of Stitches M1 R - Make one Right Pick up the bar between the last stitch you knit and the one you re about to knit, bringing the needle from the back to the front. Knit into the front of this stitch. M1L - Make one Left Pick up the bar between the stitch you knit and the one you re about to knit, bringing the needle from front to back. Knit into the back of the stitch. 6-st LC - 6 stitch Left Cable Slip 3 sts to CN and hold to front, k3, k3 from CN. 6-st RC - 6 stitch Right Cable Slip 3 sts to CN and hold to back, k3, k3 from CN. 3

Round 17 & 18: K Round 19: Thumb Gusset - PM, M1L, K1, M1R, PM, K17, 6-st RC, K6 (32st) Round 20: K Round 21: K23, 6-st LC, K3. Round 22: SM, M1L, k to nx marker, M1R, SM, K29. 6 Thumb: For both mittens Place all 13 thumb stitches onto your needles, PU and K 1st from the CO1 above thumbhole. (14st) Round 1: SSK, K10, K2tog. (12st) Round 2-9: K Decrease Round 10: *SSK, K2, K2tog* twice. (8st) Close Tip of Thumb: Perform Kitchener Stitch on last 8 st. Finishing: Weave in all ends on both Mittens. 6
