As there were two candidates received an equal number of votes for the last vacancy of the new Executive Committee during the election on 21 March 2014, a special election was subsequently held on 16 April 2014 in the presence of the same scrutineers. The newly elected Executive Committee members of IOSH Hong Kong for 2014/15 term of office and their respective proposers and seconders are tabulated in Appendix I. Their profiles are shown in. I have been working in the construction industry for more than 27 years and am now working as a project safety manager for a construction company. During my career life in OSH field, I have also been involved in serving voluntary safety organizations for promoting OSH as well as the profession with the stakeholders. This is my first attempt to stand for the IOSH Hong Kong EC election. If I'm elected, I will cooperate with all other EC colleagues and share with them my pervious experiences in voluntary professional service to make IOSH Hong Kong a more strengthened organization representing the safety profession. I have over 30 years engineering and project management experience in Hong Kong and presently serving as Senior Consultant of Southa Group. Apart from working in construction related engineering, since 1996 I have been actively involved in the professional review for various professional institutions. I am also acted as a mentor for candidates applying for corporate membership of engineer, surveyor as well as safety professional. I am also a founding member of HKIE Safety Specialist Group and served as a Chairman of Training and Education Team, Committee Member and Member of Liaison & Publicity Team for seven years. I have been served on a number of Government Boards and Committees since 1996 to date. I would like to become a member of Executive Committee of IOSH Hong Kong and wish I could offer my assistance to our local members. Since joining the IOSH in 2004, I have been deeply influenced by the safety culture that IOSH had nurtured among the members and the continuous efforts on spreading this culture in the construction industry. Having worked in the construction industry as safety practitioner for more than 15 years. I am now the Site Safety Representative for a private residential development project. I wish to contribute what I have learnt from the years of experience and from IOSH and members to promote safety awareness of general workers, establish and strengthen their safety culture to become safety leaders in their working place. Having been a member of IOSH for about 20 years, it is my aim to promote the mission of the institution to improve work-related safety and health. I will do all my best to make contribution to the branch in enhancing the services to our members and maintaining the good standing of profession. Also, I have been an active member in some associations in participating in occupational health and safety activities for several years. I am now working as a Senior Engineer of a Hong Kong based international construction company and responsible for the environmental management of a public works contract now. I recognized the importance of safety of the industry and decided to attend safety and health training 2002, aimed to contribute my knowledge and experience to the daily construction operations in order to reduce risk.
