5 Day One: Guest Speakers November 15-16, 2007 Paul Touradji Founder and Managing Partner, Touradji Capital Management, LP Paul Touradji is the Founder and Managing Partner of Touradji Capital Management, an asset management firm specializing in commodities. Paul has been successfully investing in the Commodity and Macro Markets since he was with Tiger Management LLC in the 1990 s as Managing Director in the Commodities and Macro Group. He has recently been named to Fortune Magazine s 40 under 40 Business s Hottest Rising Stars. Prior to Tiger, Paul specialized in quantitative arbitrage, primarily for O Connor Partners. Paul is a graduate of the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. Antony M. Bahr, Executive Vice President, Banking Services Group, CoBank. Antony Bahr is responsible for CoBank s Capital Markets, Leasing, Knowledge Exchange and Non-Credit Services divisions, which all provide products and services to customer segments across the enterprise. In that role, he oversees syndicated bank debt, private placements, asset securitization, tax-exempt bond financing, cash management and industry research. Mr. Bahr is also a member of CoBank s Senior Leadership Team. Previously, Mr. Bahr was senior vice president for Capital Markets, where his responsibilities included structuring, pricing, and marketing large corporate and middle market transactions placed with banks and other institutional investors. He also edited CoBank s Outlook publication, a monthly newsletter that covers macroeconomic trends, interest rate forecasts and risk management techniques. Mr. Bahr also worked for Manufacturers Hanover Securities Corp., structuring and distributing private placement transactions. He earned a bachelor s degree in international affairs from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a master s of business administration with an emphasis in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington. Mr. Gary Taylor, Principal, Agri Cura Gary Taylor recently retired as President of Cargill Cotton, a $2 billion revenue organization employing over 1,500 people. He held numerous leadership positions within Cargill and in the cotton industry in his 38-year Cargill career. Gary is now Principal of Agri Cura. He and his partner from the Midwest have formed a $400 million Private Equity Fund to acquire and manage US farmland in the Midwest and Midsouth for institutions. He was raised on a family farm in Iowa and personally owns and manages 7,000 acres of Tennessee farmland.

6 Bonus Session Guest Speakers Jay Lou, President, PolyResource International LLC, has specialized in Chinese agricultural commodity market research and consulting for over 10 years. With his networks and contacts in China, Mr. Lou has worked extensively with companies to develop firsthand market and policy information sources in China, to organize and manage market research programs, to assist agribusinesses and public sector in strategic planning and business development, and to serve as an advisor on several China Strategic Advisory Boards. Mr. Lou worked previously at the market research department of Informa Economics (formerly Sparks Companies, Inc.) and the export business department of Dunavant Enterprises Inc. He received his bachelor s and master s degrees in agricultural economics from Zhejiang Agricultural University and a master s in agricultural economics with emphasis in international trade and agricultural marketing from North Dakota State University. Dr. Hobart H. Beeghly currently leads Product Management for Monsanto s U.S. Seeds & Traits organization. He is responsible for product strategy, portfolio planning, and life cycle management of the corn, oilseed, cotton and specialty crop businesses. Since joining Monsanto in 2004 he has held a variety of roles in Monsanto s Technology and Commercial Organizations. Most recently he led the U.S. Corn Product Management team which was responsible for the commercialization of Monsanto s corn traits, including Genuity SmartStax and Genuity VT-Double Pro. Hobart obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990, his M.S. in Plant Breeding & Cytogenetics from Iowa State University in 1987, and his B.S. in Ag Studies also from Iowa State in Dr. Hickman is Director of Biorenewable Energy and Life Sciences for John Deere. He is responsible for directing, developing and implementing the Enterprise technology innovation strategy in biorenewable energy and life sciences. He provides technology leadership to Enterprise organizations to support their business plans in biorenewable energy systems. Dr. Hickman also directs the Deere Corporate Life Science activities. Hickman joined John Deere in 1994 as Manager of Cropping Systems for the John Deere Des Moines Works. In 1997, he moved to Patchen, a Deereowned subsidiary in Los Gatos, CA to serve as Manager of Marketing, Sales and Product Support. In 1998, he moved to the Corporate Headquarters where he served as corporate-level Life Scientist. Prior to joining Deere, in 1983 he joined the Agronomy faculty at Kansas State University. Hickman received Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from Purdue University, and Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Soil Science from Oregon State University. Dr. Bruce Erickson is a Certified Professional Agronomist that uses his expertise and experience in education and agribusiness to provide solutions for crop producers, their advisers, and the industries that depend on them. Erickson teaches Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy, a web-delivered course administered by the American Society of Agronomy, and is the coordinator responsible for updating the performance objectives for the International Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) program and for developing the International CCA Exam. He also leads a team that plans and implements the Top Farmer Crop Workshop, works extensively with the Site-Specific Management Center and Field Crops Extension programming. Erickson s areas of expertise include corn and soybean production, remote sensing and its application in precision agricultural practices, instructional design, and competencybased education and assessment. He has experience in building technical, product-related, sales and marketing programs to fulfill individual proficiency needs and to meet business goals, and then delivering through classroom, in the field, teleconference, and web-based platforms. Erickson began his professional career as an agronomist with Pioneer Hi-Bred in Iowa. After completing his PhD, Erickson joined the faculty of the Purdue Department of Agronomy where he taught the introductory agronomy course and played a leading role in developing and maintaining the performance objective documents and the minimum proficiency exams for both the International and Tri-State (Illinois, Indiana, & Ohio) CCA programs. More recently, Bruce served as Senior Technical Designer at Agri Business Group in Indianapolis, where he worked in a consulting role to agribusinesses and government agencies in the U.S. and Canada.

7 Day One Informa Speakers Bruce A. Scherr, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, has been with Informa Economics, Inc. (formerly Sparks Companies, Inc.) since 1987 in several executive capacities including President and CEO. In addition, he is an Advisor for Metalmark Capital LLC, a private equity fund. Formerly he was president of Sparks, Jacobs, Scherr, Inc. (SJS), a sister company to Sparks, and president of Agri-Commodities, Inc., an agriculture consulting firm based in Andover, Massachusetts, which was acquired by SJS. Prior to forming Agri-Commodities, Dr. Scherr was a divisional vice president at Data Resources, Inc., where he developed and utilized for the public and private sectors the first commercially available econometric model for US agriculture. Dr. Scherr received his bachelor s degree from Rutgers University and his master s and doctorate degrees from Purdue University, all in agricultural economics. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, E. Ritter & Company, and he serves as a member of the Global Strategy Institute Advisory Council of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for Desert STAR Inc., an electrical transmission Independent System Operator for the Desert Southwest from January 2000 through February In addition, Dr. Scherr has served as a member of The University of Tennessee s (UT) Institute of Agriculture Agricultural Development Board and UT s Committee for the Future. He was named a 2007 Distinguished Agriculture Alumni from Purdue University and he is a member of several honorary research and agricultural societies, a member of the National FFA Foundation Sponsors Board 2000 through 2001 and a former advisor to the President s Council of Economic Advisers and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Thomas P. Scott, President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Scott has been with Informa since 1989 with the majority of that time being the head of the Informa Economics Memphis-based Project Consulting Group. Mr. Scott s specialized work has included business strategy, agribusiness economic development, feasibility and site selection work, as well as various market analyses. In addition to his work in North America, Mr. Scott has extensive experience in the agribusiness sectors of Central Europe, Southeast Asia and South America. He has been involved in many training programs developed and delivered by Informa Economics. Prior to joining the company, he had various assignments in management, trading, logistics and merchandising with Continental Grain Company. He received his bachelor s degree in agricultural economics and business from Cornell University and a master s degree in business administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College where he was an Amos Tuck Scholar.
