The business models and market forces are under reconstruction. New innovative manufacturing methods are maturing and are expected to transform logistics chains. This has the potential to influence maritime transportation in yet unpredictable ways. The aim of this course is to provide the participants with a clear understanding of the developments and changes impacting shipping markets worldwide. Throughout the week, the participants will discuss and interact with speakers, who are all leading industry figures. The speakers are known for their practical experience in understanding change and transformation processes and their impact on shipping and chartering. They are all in charge of advising, building, reconstructing or changing companies! From experience, we know that they add value by developing skills in communicating and defending participants viewpoints. Case studies sharpen analytical thinking and assist in developing a tolerance for different views. The various solutions, which naturally emerge from case studies, serve as a valuable reference when confronted with similar problems in the work place. The structure of the course is identical to the popular and well known BIMCO Summer Shipping School. However, where the Summer Shipping School is suitable for new entrants to the shipping industry, the Advanced Maritime Training Week provides specialist training in subjects appropriate to more senior staff. The course is residential and the participants stay at the conference hotel for the duration of the training. The boot camp atmosphere is a key aspect of the learning experience. Hotel accommodation, excursions and all meals except for Wednesday evening are all included in the course fee.

5 Speakers Peter Abildgaard Peter Abildgaard is Commercial Director at Marcura Nordics. Prior to taking up the position as Commercial Director at Mercura, he was Head of Operations at Navig8 Group, Managing Director V.Ships Denmark and Vice President, Global Operations Tank at TORM in Copenhagen. Kim Ahler Kim Ahler is Managing Director, Marcura Nordics at MARCURA. For over 25 years, Kim Ahler has been a solid contributor to the development of ITenabled solutions for the maritime industry in Denmark and abroad. Starting his career in Maersk, he has worked with J.Lauritzen, Royal Arctic Line, Armada Shipping, Maersk Data and IBM Transport and Logistics. In 2007, he founded the boutique IT consultancy firm shipit ApS and has served as its CEO, focused on optimizing IT and processes for maritime companies, many of which are also customers of The Marcura Group. Kim is heading Mercura s Nordic representative office focusing on innovation through co-creation of new products for the large Nordic customer base of the Group, especially as they relate to DA-Desk services. Henriette Brent-Petersen Henriette is Managing Director of DVB Bank, and heads the Shipping and Offshore Research Department. Externally she represents DVB by giving shipping and offshore market outlook presentations to customers, rating agencies and is a frequent speaker at conferences. Before joining DVB Bank, Henriette headed the Maersk Broker Research Department for almost a decade. Henriette has a strong financial background from Citibank where she started as a Management Associate and worked as a relationship manager before joining Maersk Broker in Henriette started her career as a country and bank analyst covering Eastern Europe and CIS with the Danish ECA, Eksport Kredit Fonden. She holds a master degree in economic science from Copenhagen University and has worked as an external teacher, lecturer and examiner for almost a decade with Copenhagen Business School (CBS), initially in the field of financial statement analysis and marketing, and ultimately in relation to the blue MBA at CBS. Michael Elwert Capt Michael P. Elwert is the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Elektrans Group. Michael has worked within global shipping his entire working life and has over two decades of international management experience within the international maritime industry. He has gained his global shipping acumen and exposure working from Denmark, Norway, South Africa, USA as well as several countries in Asia. In 2009 he joined the Executive Management Team in the Thome Group of Companies based in their HQ Singapore, where he was appointed Group Director responsible for Strategy, People and Systems. He was assigned 2 years with the Danish Shipowners Association followed by an Executive role as Chief Commercial Officer with BIMCO. Matt Hannaford Matt is a partner of Hannaford Turner, having previously worked at Curtis Davis Garrard ( ), Clyde & Co ( ) and Clifford Chance ( ). Matt s practice focuses on commercial shipping law with particular expertise in ship finance and ship sale and purchase, including newbuilding projects. He is the co-author of Goldrein s Ship Sale and Purchase, the leading legal textbook on the sale and purchase of secondhand tonnage. He was a member of the BIMCO documentary sub-committee for the preparation of Norwegian Saleform His clients include ship owners and operators, major international banks, ship builders, commodity traders and private equity funds. In addition to ship finance work, he regularly advises international maritime clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures and pooling arrangements. In recent years Matt has been heavily involved in debt finance restructurings, fleet enforcements and advising on insolvency issues. Matt is also recognised for his expertise in the superyacht market and regularly represents owners, builders and international financial institutions in this unique market sector. Thomas Hechmann Thomas Hechmann is the owner of Cultr Communication. A consultancy company located in Copenhagen, with the aim of helping the Danish shipping, transport and logistics industry to increase efficiency and thereby earnings by focusing on increased Cultural Understanding, Communication and Sales and Negotiation Thomas Hechman is trained from A.P. Møller-Mærsk and has more than 15 years of experience from some of the biggest shipping companies in Denmark, where he has worked as a leader, teacher and coach. He has traveled all over the world and has worked 3 years in USA for D/S Norden managing their tanker activities. Egil Husby Chief Risk Officer, Western Bulk Egil Husby is responsible for risk management in Western Bulk, and has been employed in the company since late He comes from Norsk Hydro where he worked with risk management and structuring for Hydro s energy trading activities. Egil has an MBA from the University of Adelaide and an MSc in mathematical statistics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

6 Speakers (cont.) S adan Kaptanoğlu S adan Kaptanoğlu, after graduating from the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University Faculty of Literature, studied shipping in London City College. She holds an MSc degree in Shipping, Finance and Trade from City University Cass Business School and she holds a PhD degree from De Montfort University. After working as the Managing Director of H.İ Kaptanoglu Ship Management Company until January 2014, she became the chief executive officer of Kaptanoglu Shipping. On 6 June 2017 at the BIMCO General Meeting in Rome Sadan Kaptanoglu was elected as President Designate of BIMCO thereby becoming the first woman to reach that position. Sadan Kaptanoglu is the chairperson of TURMEPA and vice president of INTERMEPA. She is the Chairman of Turkish Committee of Lloyd s Register. She is the Chairman of Turkish Committee of RINA She is the first winner of Seatrade awards young person of the year in 2008, in London. S adan Kaptanoglu is married and has two daughters. Claus Kjeldsen Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies Claus Kjeldsen is an internationally known key note speaker giving presentations on various topics related to futures studies in a strategic perspective. He has also worked with several international and global companies on larger strategic projects involving futures studies - including transportation, retail brands, manufacturing companies and government institutions. Prior to his engagement with CIFS he worked as a management consultant and as CEO of start-up s and turn around s. Lars Kyvsgaard Lars is a former international banker. He earned his Master of Economics from the University of Copenhagen in He specialises in financial advisory towards the maritime industry, and he has been leading teams specialized in ship financing within Nordea. He led Nordea s banking operation in Singapore from 2010 and until 2015, was chairman of the Danish Business Association in Singapore, and he was member of the advisory board at the CBS Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics. He specialises in shipping, credit risk management, capital raising instruments (ship financing, bonds, leasing, equity), debt restructuring, financial regulatory requirements, the Asian economies, and leadership of international banking organizations. In April 2016, he founded Kyvsgaard Consulting A/S with focus on strategic and financial advisory within the maritime industry. The company has successfully acted as advisor for 14 different companies, and in addition, established partnerships with Otto Danielsen A/S and NorthCape Capital AS to ensure access to equity and ship financing. Organiser Per Lange Mr Lange has been with the Company since 1995, when Eitzen acquired EAC Shipping A/S. He has been a part of the management of the Bulk division since 1997 and was promoted to Managing Director in He started his shipping career in 1981 in A.P.Møller-Maersk where he was a part of the Maersk Bulk team from 1985 to In addition to being CEO at Ultrabulk, he is also Chairman of Ultrabulk Logistics Services (India) Ltd., Cedrela Transport Ltd., Bahamas. Mr Lange was appointed Chairman of the Commercial Committee of the Danish Shipoweners Association in Mr Lange is a Danish citizen and resides in Denmark. Toby Mumford Toby Mumford graduated from the University of Southampton in 2013 with a BEng in Naval Architecture. Since finishing, he has worked with Seasure and VesselsValue focusing on both valuations and S&P. His interest in all things nautical has seen him row and yacht race for Great Britain. Peter Sand Peter Sand is Chief Shipping Analyst at BIMCO. He has worked for Statistics Denmark, compiling public accounts and doing international statistical work in relation to the European Union and United Nations. He then joined D/S NORDEN and during the rise and fall of the dry bulk markets, Peter gained experience in the fields of executive assistance, caretaking of investors and the art of transforming financial data and shipping statistics into analyses, presentations and reports. Later on he worked with CSR with a focus on sustainable shipping. Peter left D/S NORDEN as Senior Analyst and member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Board and joined BIMCO in He holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen. Peter Grube Peter Grube is Head of Training: Courses and joined BIMCO in His first position was in the Support & Advice team, where he assisted BIMCO members with a wide range of commercial issues. In 2000 he was appointed Marketing & Sales Director of BIMCO, responsible for promoting and driving forward BIMCO s global position as a leading maritime organisation. In 2005 he transferred to BIMCO Training, developing, coordinating and delivering BIMCO courses and seminars world-wide. Prior to joining BIMCO he worked in ship ownership in Copenhagen as well as sale & purchase in Greece. He is a graduate from the Danish School for International Marketing & Export and is a Chartered Shipbroker (FICS). He holds a Master s in Education and Learning from Roskilde University (RUC).
