THE 2017 ANNUAL APOLLO 11 ANNIVERSARY GALA HELD UNDER THE APOLLO SATURN V ROCKET AT KENNEDY SPACE CENTER JULY 15,

Michael Collins & Buzz Aldrin Apollo 11 THE 48TH APOLLO 11 ANNIVERSARY GALA Every July, astronauts, space pioneers and business leaders from across the globe gather under the historic Apollo Saturn V rocket at the Kennedy Space Center to celebrate the historic Apollo moon landing and highlight the value of inspirational space education. These generous donations support the Buzz Aldrin Space Foundation, which supports space education from grade school to graduate school, developing the next generation of space innovators. As we approach the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, it is my ultimate ambition to lay the foundations that will inspire and support the next generation of space pioneers. By attending the event, guests are invited to play a vital role in the advancement of space exploration. Buzz Aldrin. 1
2017 Gala Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11), Jeff Bezos (Founder of Amazon and Blue Origin), Michael Collins (Apollo 11), Walt Cunningham (Apollo 7) and Harrison Jack Schmitt (Apollo 17). Winston Scott, former NASA astronaut & Dean of the College of Aeronautics at the Florida Institute of Technology. Former Nasa astronaut Terry Virts, Commander of the ISS for 200 days. This unique star-studded gala event features rare appearances, speeches and on-stage conversations between some of the most notable astronauts, space industry innovators and well-known faces in Hollywood. 2
2017 THE 1ST ANNUAL BUZZ ALDRIN SPACE AWARDS Jim Christensen and Andrew Aldrin Jim Christensen, Director of Education at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, collects the Buzz Aldrin Space Education Award. Jeff Bezos and Buzz Aldrin Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com and spaceflight company Blue Origin accepting the inaugural Buzz Aldrin Space Innovation Award. His company has been developing reusable rockets and will soon take tourists on sub-orbital flights. This is a wonderful and meaningful honor for me, who as a five year old boy watched the Apollo program that inspired me so much, said Bezos. What's holding us back from making the next step is that space travel is too expensive because we throw the rockets away we need to build reusable rockets it s what Blue Origin is dedicated to. Christina Korp and Mae Jemison Mae Jemison, engineer, physician and the first African-American woman to travel to space in 1992, accepts the Buzz Aldrin Space Pioneering Award. The glass awards were produced by the luxury Soneva Resorts Glass Art Studio in the Maldives. 3

Andrew Aldrin BASF President Andrew Aldrin, Dr Aldrin s son, said: With your help, we can educate the bright, curious minds of creative space pioneers embarking on the greatest challenge of their lives, fulfilling my father s plan to create a permanent human settlement on Mars. Somewhere out there tonight is a kid who will be the first human on Mars she just doesn t know it yet. 6
