It doesn t matter if you re a woman or a man, great things can be accomplished when people work together. Cassandra Soh, Clients & Markets Senior The activities today were a great start to the morning and I feel privileged to be part of a company that celebrates women. Kimberley Chang, Audit Associate International Women s Day (IWD) on 8 March marks a day of recognising the diverse achievements of women around the world. At Deloitte, our female colleagues were treated to breakfast to start their work day going old school with egg tarts and soya milk. In addition, massage sessions by masseurs from the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped were provided for a quick perk-me-up! Also taking place on 8 March was our Singapore Budget Seminar, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Over 270 participants attended this seminar which was organised in partnership with The Business Times and to celebrate this special day, our lady guests received green dot macarons as a gift! 2 Striking a balance with inspiring women at Google Having to juggle work, studies and national team training, it is very important to prioritise and learn how to say no in order to manage your time well. During the speed coaching session, the coaches rotated between small groups to share their personal success stories in balancing life, work and family while pursuing their passions. Also attending the session were Talent Partner Seah Gek Choo, Charmaine Leong (Risk Advisory Senior Administrative Associate), Cheryl Lim (Risk Advisory Director), Diona Lim (Risk Advisory Manager), Fleur Buckland (Risk Advisory Director), Ho Hui Xin (Clients & Markets Executive), Hsu Man Pin (Risk Advisory Consultant) and Tan Jing Er (Audit Senior). It was an insightful sharing session for all the participants, both male and female, and a great way to spend this meaningful day! Deloitte concludes Programme RA-dy to make an IMPACT! Since its launch in August last year, the Deloitte-SMU Student Women s Connection (SWC) mentoring programme has helped students build relationships with senior female mentors from Deloitte and has successfully concluded with a closing session on 7 February students from the Singapore Management University (SMU) came together with their 10 Deloitte mentors including Talent Partner Seah Gek Choo and Tax Partner Lee Siew Ying, over a Lo Hei session. During the closing session, Siew Ying shared her thoughts on the programme, which comprised several one-to-one sessions where the mentors discussed common topics and concerns brought up by their mentees, and guided them as they prepare for their future careers. SEA RA RMP Janson Yap with Blessings in a Bag founder Emily Teng A group of Deloitte volunteers from Risk Advisory (RA) visited the Blessings in a Bag facility for an interactive session with the children on 2 February 2017, as part of their Joining in their Beyond Awesome programme held every Thursday, our RA volunteers had a fun evening helping to educate the children on Chinese New Year traditions through engaging lessons. The evening started with a story telling session by one of their teachers, which was followed by an opening address from RA Regional Managing Partner Janson Yap. The highlight was the dragon-puppet making activity and the children got very excited as our volunteers helpd them with the craft and played trivia games with them! After an enjoyable session, it was time to say goodbye but the event ended with big smiles on the children s faces as our volunteers gave them canvas bags and red packets!

3 Life at Deloitte February Celebrating What s Right with SPEX Kimberly Lim, C&M Executive Minister Grace Fu On 17 February 2017, the Singapore Sports Institute held a Celebrate What s Right event to recognise the contributions of partners in the Sports Excellence (SPEX) Business and Education network. This event was graced by Minister of Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu, and Minister of State for Manpower Teo Ser Luck. As a partner of the spexbusiness network and a donor supporter of Team Singapore athletes, Deloitte was invited to the event and represented by James Walton (SPEX Advisory Panel member and Deloitte SEA Sports Business Group Leader), Seah Gek Choo (Talent Partner), former national shuttler Derek Wong (Audit Junior Associate), and national netballers Cassandra Soh (Clients & Markets Senior Executive), Kimberly Lim (Clients & Markets Executive), and Melissa Teo (Audit Associate). During the event, Derek was spexbusiness network. Kimberly was also selected to introduce some of her fellow athletes to partners of the spexbusiness network. Beating Korea (3-2) and Malaysia (8-0) but narrowly losing out to Japan (2-3), featuring in all matches, even providing three assists. the match 7-1. The Singapore team from the Singapore Management University comprising Luo Xindi, Ng Si Jia, Ann Qi and Deloitte Student Ambassadors Michael Wongsosaputro and Nestor Seow was mentored by Tax Senior Manager Chua Kong Ping. 5 Life at Deloitte December February Singapore Netballers beat Hong Kong to win inaugural HK-SG cup Team Singapore Netball players and coaches In preparation for the 2017 SEA Games, our Team Singapore Netball ladies hosted Hong Kong in the inaugural Hong Kong-Singapore Cup (HK-SG Cup) which took place on 19 February The event saw match eventually concluded with our Singapore team narrowly edging out their opponents by a 3-point margin. Representing the Singapore team were our Deloitte Netballers Charmaine Soh (Vice Captain & FSI Senior), Cassandra Soh (Clients & Markets Senior Executive), Kimberly Lim (Clients & Markets Executive), Zhang Ailin (Financial Advisory Assistant Manager) and Jocelyn Ng (Clients & Markets Executive) who also made her international debut, scoring 14 goals for the Singapore side. Netball Super League 2017 Following the HK-SG Cup, our Netballers will be competing with their respective clubs in the NSL 2017, which will act as a selection base for the 2017 squad. I wanted to prove myself but at the same time was afraid of messing up. Being able to step onto the court and score goals for the country was amazing and I felt a great sense of pride! Clients & Markets Executive ladies futsal The Corporate Community Games (CCG) takes on a brand new format this year with several sports being incorporated in the corporate category of the U Games by NTUC. First up on the sports calendar was the Ladies Futsal competition which took place on 18 February 2017 at Kovan Sports Centre. The competition featured four groups where the top two progressed to the match against a strong team comprising a few of the club players from the team who played for Deloitte in the Bali 7s last year.
