Many of us come up with new year s resolutions to create change in our life. What are you going to do differently in 2018 to make a better you? 4 Honolulu Chapter Board Meeting Highlights November 29, 2017 Treasurer s Report: October 2017 financials were disbursed, reviewed and approved by the board. Committee Reports: ASIST Candace Yuen and Kim Oshiro No updates Communications and Marketing Abigail Jacinto 11/27 blast reminder to membership regarding 11/29/17 RSVP and Regrets deadline for December 6 meeting. 12/4 blast reminder to membership regarding December 6 chapter meeting. 12/13 Articles due for January Connect 1/2/18 Newsletter goes on website and out to membership 1/10/18 Articles due for February Connect EWISP JaDawn Perez No updates Retention & Recruitment Karen Mendes Discussed committee goals for Chapter growth. Programs Francine Lee-Kadota 11/8/17 - Chapter meeting held at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. Alice Inoue of Happiness U spoke on Being Open to Change is the Key to Success - How to go with the Flow of Life. Also celebrated EWI of Honolulu s 50th Anniversary! Survey results were very good/excellent for the food, speaker and venue. 12/6/17 - Chapter meeting to be held at The Prince Waikiki, Makiki Room. Cost is $55 inclusive. Parking hosted. 1/10/18 - Chapter meeting will be at the Pagoda, International Ballroom with guest speaker Pam Chambers. 2/7/18 - Board approved the change in meeting date to the first Wednesday of the month instead of 2/14/18. Will have wine wall but no silent auction. Theme Italian Asian Fusion. Cost estimated at $75 - $85. Awaiting menu from Plaza Club; working on entertainment, and will begin soliciting donations. Chapter of Excellence Qualification tracker sheet created and will be included in the Connect. Executive Engagement Executive Advisory Board. Looking at a lunch in April instead of a dinner meeting. Michelle to survey to membership for feedback. New Business: None. Next Meetings: The next membership meeting will be on December 6, 2017, 5:30 p.m., Prince Waikiki. Encourage membership to wear red and festive accessories. Toys for Tots donation drive. December Board Meeting will be on Wednesday December 13, 2017, 5:30 p.m. location TBD. It was an honor to have Lance Corporal Khan from the United States Marine Corps, representing Toys for Tots, join us.
