Unchromed = raw. This does not mean painted. Painting just like chroming is an additional process. As there is such a wide choice of paint finishes available no prices are quoted in this price list. Raw means the instrument has been burnt & tuned. Before chroming it is necessary to remove all surface rust and clean away the tarnish from burning. This process involves the use of very strong chemicals and takes a long time. How ever the end result is also a desirable finish that can be an alternative to painting or chroming. Should you wish to consider this finish please ask us for a quotation. The chromed prices quoted are only guideline prices as we have no control over the cost of the chroming process. 4 Instrument & Equipment Rental Steel pans are costly instruments. It is not fair to expect a beginner to buy an instrument, stand and case before they have even started. The beginner needs to experiment and find out if this family of instruments is for them and weather they are suited to the instruments.
