Described as a "magnificent" song writer by the great John Tams, Dave has produced seven albums of original songs for Winter Wilson and earned national recognition for his writing. But this forum isn't all about Dave. Come and share your ideas, tips and bring any questions. Open to all from beginner to the experienced writer. It's good to share!

2 B The B Tuneworks Improvers B The B The See Tuneworks pages for more information Harmony Singing led by Janet Russell and supported by Penny Barfield and the Peace Through Folk Choir Dulcimer WS1 is an Introduction to the mountain dulcimer - chords, easy lead lines. Join Robin and Geoff from the Nonsuch Dulcimer Club in exploring the Appalachian or Mountain Dulcimer. Learn how to play some simple tunes and basic chords; practise your new skills in a (leisurely) old time/bluegrass session; and finally explore different styles of playing from mountain roots to the modern concert stage. Instruments, noters, picks etc will be provided - or by all means bring your own mountain dulcimer. B Dance Tent Dancing masters Jo Freya & Dave Shepherd - with the rest of the band providing the music - teach some great English traditional dances and some of the European couple dances that Blowzabella have popularised over the last 36 years. The aim of the workshop is to help people get the most from a Blowzabella gig. All ages and abilities welcome. There s plenty for experienced dancers to learn too. Bagpipes their secret history: A huge success at last year s Shrewsbury Festival, an opportunity for you to find out a bit more about this instrument. Not every bagpipe comes from Scotland in fact there are over 160 types of bagpipes being played around the world today. Discover how these instruments developed from medieval times to their revival throughout Europe today. Members of the Bagpipe Society will be on hand to demonstrate and guide you through some of the many types. Even have a go yourself: there will be a small number of sets for people to have a try at the end of the session. Dance tunes from the English tradition in two part harmony. A chance for everyone to have a blast before the end of the festival - using the Tunebooks book means you'll know at least some of the tunes, and get to hear and play them at full speed! Jack Harris - Song Slam. This workshop will be captured on video J led by Steve Knightley How to get people to clap a bit more Stagecraft and other tricks of the trade. Open to all especially those who play a bit themselves.
