1 Week #8 - Large Group July 29, 2014 Need To Know: I Should Tell Others About God s Love Bible Story: Come One Come All (Acts 10:1-48) GAME PREPARATION Beginagin Park Trivia Materials needed for 1 stage: (*Asterisk & bold = duplicate for additional services)! Ring Toss Game! 5 Point Cards! 10 Point Cards! Question Cards! 2 Prizes* (1 large, 1 small) Prepare ahead of time:! Print 5 Point Cards and 10 Point Cards from site and cut.! Print Question Cards from site. Stage setup:! Contestants should stand beside each other, with the ring toss in front of them, facing crowd. How to play:! Game Director will ask questions about Beginagin Park. Contestants will take turns answering the questions. If a contestant doesn t know an answer, he or she may ask the audience.! A correct answer to a question gets a 10 Point Card. If a contestant gets the correct answer, he or she can try tossing the ring. If the ring lands on the peg, that contestant also gets a 5 point card.! The contestant with the most points at the end is the winner! Notes for Game Director:! Please choose contestants who are not wearing skirts or dresses.! Choose contestants(2 total contestants). When the contestants come up onto stage, allow kids to introduce themselves. Make sure they know how to play the game, and then allow the game to start.! 2 Way Station leaders will be participating as contestants with the kids in this game.

2 Tie-in teaching point:! The audience was able to help our contestants today by TELLING them an answer to a question if the contestant didn t know it. There is something very important that we all need to tell others, too! I Should Tell Others About God s Love! WEEK 8: PRE-LARGE GROUP/WORSHIP PLAY pre-reel music in itunes (have logo on screens) OTR_ES_Counter OTR_ES_Logo w/ Teaching Music Host/Worship Leader(s) take stage. HOST/WORSHIP LEADER: Welcome again to Beginagin Theme Park! We are going to get to explore this amusement park on a very special day! Throughout this series, we ve been learning eight truths from the Bible that will take our relationships with God to a whole new level...of the rails!!! Well let s get things started off right by singing an awesome song! I would love for everyone to stand up and come down front to sing with me! OTR_ES_Song_Holy Is Your Name OTR_ES_Logo w/ Teaching Music Great job everyone! HOST/WORSHIP LEADER : Welcome Back to our final week in Beginagin Theme Park! Today is a very special day and we are going to get to explore this awesome park!! Before we do that though we need to review just a few rules that we have in CF Kids. These rules are in place to help us stay safe and have a great place to learn about Jesus. If you know them you can say them with me. Rule #1 Respect yourself and others Rule #2 Listen and obey- Rule #3- Be kind and Rule #4 Respect our property. Throughout this series we ve been learning about eight truths from the Bible that take our relationships with God to a new level...off the rails!!! I hope you have been learning with us! Before we get too busy let us find out what we Need To Know today!

3 I Should Tell Others About God s Love! You guys stay seated and repeat that after me. Optional Motions: (1 st -3 rd Grade only) I Should Tell Others (cup your hands over your mouth) About God s Love! (point up)! Awesome job! If you re ready to head into the park and see what we have planned for you today, let me hear you scream like you re on a roller coaster! AAAHHHH!!! Come on! I think you can be louder than that!!!! Woah! Well then let s head into the park! Count it down with me! Ready? ACTION!!! HOST/WORSHIP LEADER: Okay! I think they could hear you all the way in the adult services! I bet they are wondering where there is a roller coaster in CF Kids! Well, I am glad you had fun making so much noise but today we are going to do something that will require you to NOT use your mouth at all! Don t worry we will release your mouths and make some more noise in a while. Right now we are going to get into groups and play a game called Charades. Have any of you ever played it before? The object of the game is to try to act something out so others can guess what it is and you can t use your mouth at all! Here let me show you. See if you can guess what this is (act out motions so kids can guess the word FIRE ) (Optional: Have someone come running in with a raincoat on and spray HOST/WORSHIP LEADER with either a fire extinquisher or water as if trying to save them from burning) (Can use a bucket of confetti if water isn t allowed at your campus) WHEW! That was a big misunderstanding! I guess it would have been easier if I could have told them that I was trying to act out the word SUN I would like some help from our Small Group leaders for this activity! (Divide kids into groups of no more than kids or less) (Small Group leaders will be distributed slips of paper that kids can pull to try to act out) Okay! You have about 5 minutes to try to get your point across to your friends WITHOUT using your mouth! When you hear this sound: BOING ALARM Sound Effect It will be time for you to finish up and return to your seats. Now let me tell you to (motion for them to go) Distribute slips of paper to Small Group Leaders Set timer for 5 minutes of Charades Boing Alarm Sound Effect

4 HOST/WORSHIP LEADER: Okay everyone! That sound is our reminder that this game is now over. Please return to your seats! It was pretty hard to let others know what they needed to know WITHOUT using our mouths wasn t it? We are learning that we need to TELL others about Jesus love and we need to use our mouths to do that. People also see the way we act and see Jesus in our lives but the best way for them to know about Jesus is for us to TELL them about Him! So make sure you keep using your mouths to invite your friends to church and tell them that Jesus loves them. Can you please say this with me so we don t forget what we need to know today? HOST/WORSHIP LEADER: Great job everyone! I really like hearing from you! Now let s give those mouths a break while we watch today s Bible lesson. FIRE: OTR_ES_Wk8_Bible Story & Game Instruction Game Director: Choose participants and facilitates game OTR Game Time w/music Game Director: Great job guys! I think we have a winner! (kids repeat after you, repeat motions if you did them earlier) God wants us to tell others about His son Jesus! If we are ever scared that our friends will make fun of us, then we can pray to God for courage to tell our friends.

5 Wrap Up: Today we ve learned the importance of using our mouths to tell others about Jesus. Charades isn t exactly the way we want to tell others about Jesus. I learned that the hard way! During our large group game the audience was able to help our contestants today by TELLING them an answer to a question if the contestant didn t know it. There is something very important that we all need to tell others, too! I Should Tell Others About God s Love! I hope you all so much fun! Next week we won t be in Beginagin Park but we have something extra fun planned so don t miss it! (Show kids the August Calendar) Does everyone see this? This is our new August Calendar and you need to make sure you have one with you when you go home today. You can use this to help you read your Bible everyday and it also have your new memory verse on it. Don t forget it! Also, you will want to be sure to take home some invite cards so you can use them to invite all of your friends to join you next week! Our need to know this week is Come One Come All and that means that we want EVERYONE to come to Jesus. When we invite our friends to church they can hear about Jesus love! Well, I hope you ve had a great time these past weeks in Beginagin Park! I hope you ve not only had fun, but also learned a lot! I know I have! Let s pray Jesus thank you for loving us so much! We want to be more like you and so we ask that you help us! Help us read our Bibles everyday and be wise with all we have. It all belongs to you. We pray that you would help us think of the people you would like us to invite to join us next week. We want to tell others about you!
