2 MATLAMAT (GOALS): The goals of this course is to provide engineering student to read and write in engineering graphic language; study on basic theory and draw of engineering equipment components with ordinary routines and mechanical engineering drawing convention. SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS): Introduction of engineering drawing: Equipment and material uses. Drawing standard. Lettering and lines. Dimension lines. Plane geometry. Orthographic projection view. Cross section view. Drawing of isometric, oblique and perspective. Mechanical drawing of single component. Ordinary routines and convention. Bolt, screw and nut. Tolerance, limit and assembly. Surface texture. Welding. Introduction of computer-aideddesign. Drawing command and 2D drawing. HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES): At the end of this course, the students would be able to: 1. Analyze plane geometry problems, isometric drawings and 3D objects/drawing, and project it into orthographic projection view. (C4:PLO4) 2. Produce 2D and 3D drawing with proper dimensioning using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for a single part or multi parts drawing. (P4:PLO2) 3. Organize tasks as a team to produce the engineering drawings of a real engineering project. (A4:PLO5) ISI KANDUNGAN (CONTENT): MINGGU (WEEK) KANDUNGAN (CONTENT) 1 CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION (MANUAL DRAWING) (5 hours) 1.1 Definition of engineering drawing. 1.2 Understand of equipment and material engineering uses method. 1.3 Drawing Standard. 1.4 Lettering and Lines. 1.5 Draw of title box. 1.6 Dimension lines. 2 CHAPTER 2: PLANE GEOMETRY (5 hours) 2.1 Constructing parallel and perpendicular lines from one (1) point. 2.2 Division of lines. 2.3 Constructing angles. 2.4 Constructing circles and an arc through three points. 2.5 Constructing polygons. 2.6 Constructing tangent lines of two circles. 2.7 Constructing similar features. 3 CHAPTER 3: ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION VIEW (5 hours) 3.1 Principle of orthographic projection. 3.2 Orthographic projection in first-angle and third-angle projection. 3.3 ion system symbols. 3.4 Selection of views. 3.5 ing of curve, circle and arc surfaces. 3.6 Dimensioning of orthographic views. Quiz, Test, 6 MIDTERM BREAK 7 TEST 1 7 CHAPTER 6: DETAILED MECHANICAL DRAWING (5 hours) 6.1 Understand types of mechanical drawing. 6.2 Ordinary routines and convention in mechanical drawing following ANSI Standard: Hidden lines, Hole details, Alignments, Threads, Movement components, Screws, Bolt and nut, Gears, Surface textures, Dimensions, Tolerances, limits and assemblies and welding. 6.3 Draw a single component for engineering equipment in orthographic projection views. Call Number: T357.K KEHADIRAN / PERATURAN SEMASA KULIAH (ATTENDANCE / REGULATIONS DURING LECTURE) 1. Pelajar mesti hadir tidak kurang dari 80% masa pertemuan yang ditentukan bagi sesuatu kursus termasuk kursus Hadir Wajib (HW) dan kursus Hadir Sahaja (HS). Students must attend not less than 80% of the contact hours specified for a course including Compulsory Attendance (HW) course and Attendance Only (HS) course. 2. Pelajar yang tidak memenuhi perkara 1 di atas tidak dibenarkan menghadiri kuliah dan menduduki sebarang bentuk pentaksiran selanjutnya. Markah sifar 0 akan diberikan kepada pelajar yang gagal memenuhi perkara 1. Manakala untuk kursus HW, pelajar yang gagal memenuhi perkara 1 akan diberi gred Hadir Gagal (HG). Students who do not fulfill item 1 of the above are not allowed to attend further lecture and sit for any form of assessment. Zero 0 mark will be given to students who fail to comply with item 1. As for HW course, students who fail to comply with item 1 will be given Failure Attendance (HG) grade.

5 3. Pelajar perlu patuh kepada peraturan berpakaian yang berkuatkuasa dan menjaga disiplin diri masingmasing untuk mengelakkan dari tindakan tatatertib diambil terhadap pelajar. Students should adhere to the dress regulations in effect and must discipline themselves to avoid from any disciplinary actions. 4. Pelajar perlu mematuhi peraturan keselamatan sepanjang aktiviti pembelajaran dan pengajaran. Students should adhere to the safety regulations throughout the learning and teaching activities.
