5 Step 2: Prepare the Fashion Figure Template Now that you have learned how to draw and render the fashion poses, figures and fashion designs in previous lessons, choose one of the figures and draw a desired design. I traced my illustration with an ultra fine tipped black pen and photocopied it. This is one of the options when you draw illustrations. You can also draw and outline your figure with HB pencil, in this case, you do not need to photocopy the illustration (Lesson 3-5). I will show how to draw a casual look for a gorgeous beach beauty. I have designed a Silk Crepe de Chine blouse and lycra bikinis for this look. Light fabrics, bright colours and whites are typical beach colours, and loose-fitted tops, dresses, shorts and bikinis are typical clothes for beach lovers. Here is my Beach Babe illustration. 6 Step 3: Rendering Skin Rendering skin. I use Copic and Pantone markers for skin rendering in this tutorial. You will learn how to render the skin in Lessons 3-7

7 Step 4: Face and Hair Rendering Face and hair rendering. I use Derwent pencils and Pantone markers. I love adding personality to my fashion figures. Drawing make up is one of my favourites. Make up can be light or heavy, depends on the illustration and inspiration. You will learn how to draw beautiful faces and hair in Lesson 7. I would go with 2-3 shades of these colours: browns and greys. Start with the lightest brown, remember where the light is coming from and leave blank areas not rendered where the light touches the most. Leave some whites for the shine. For this illustration, I decided the light is coming from the right. Add strokes of darker colour to the hair. When colouring hair, always go along with the flow of the hair, in other words-follow the hair lines!add some skin shading on the face as you draw eyes and lips.

8 Step 5: Start With Light Colours I go with 2-3 shades of each of these colours: blues and greys I begin drawing with the lightest colour. Here I started with light blue dots or circles-they are my diamonds! You can use pencils or markers for this drawing (I used pencils). Then I added spherical depth to the dots/circles by adding shading. For shading I chose light grey pencil.

9 Step 6: Add Some Shading and Highlights Next step is to colour the blouse and bikinis. I started with the lightest pencils and gradually added shading around the folds, gathers and bust area. I outlined the blouse and deep folds with dark blue pencil, and then black art line pen (optional). To colour bikinis, I started with colouring them in light blue, leaving white areas around the gathered part of bikini. My choice was a Pantone marker, because lycra is a shiny fabric, and markers are great in drawing this type of fabric! I highlighted the brightest section with a white pencil, and filled the brightest point with the white ink pen.
