1 St. Angel s School,Sec 45, Gurgaon Session Summer Break Homework for Class V Instructions for the Holiday Home work:- Note:-Holidays homework carries marks in CCE; hence submission of work post vacation is compulsory for all students. 1. Start the revision for all the subjects as per the syllabus of the Formative Assessment -2 which is scheduled from July onwards. 2. Written Homework of all the subjects is to be done as per the instructions & guidance given by the subject teacher. 3. The child will be assessed for the Handwriting, presentation, neatness, completion of all the given questions.therefore,questions must be done in the given sequence aesthetically. 4. Charts, Presentations and Projects must be labeled properly indicating very clearly the Name, Class, Roll No, and Subject. 5. Use good quality pencil to draw neat & tidy diagrams & their labeling and good quality gel pen to write. 6. Avoid deletions, or using white fluid, or any over writing. After completing each answer in the notebook draw a line using pencil & scale. 7. The child is provided with the drawing sheets, charts and writing sheets have been provided to you. Strictly adhere to the instructions given by the subject teachers in the classroom & further given in the questions. 8. Parents can be the facilitators for the child at home but let the child complete his work independently & in his own handwriting. 9. Worksheets given here also must be downloaded, practiced and punched in the assignment file. Submission of worksheets is mandatory post vacation.

4 MATHS INSTRUCTIONS: Make beautiful and creative charts for the topics given according to your roll numbers. Elaborate your topic with the help of examples. Take the help of INTERNET. The two activities given below are mandatory for all the students. Present the activities on the sheets given. CHARTS (TO BE DONE ROLL NO.WISE): 1. Make Indian and International place value chart. (Roll no: 1 to 4) 2. Make a chart of different types of fractions with the help of pictorial presentation (Roll no : 5 to 8) 3. Make a chart showing line, line segment and Ray.( Roll no : 9 to 12) 4. Make a chart of parallel and perpendicular lines. (Roll no: 13 to 16) 5. Make a chart representing Roman numerals. (Roll no: 17 to 20) 6. Make a chart of properties of factors and multiples. (Roll no: 21 to 24) 7. Make a chart of place value of decimal fractions. (Roll no: 25 to 28) ACTIVITIES TO BE DONE BY ALL STUDENTS : 1. To represent the fractions ½, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5 by paper folding using rectangular strips of paper. 2. Write the word MATHEMATICS using line segments and observe the number of right angles, number of angles more than a right angle and number of angles less than a right angle.
5 SCIENCE Project Guidelines- The project should be for 10 slides Slide one- Title of the Project ( By using word Art) Slide two- Index ( By using Table) Slide three- Introduction of your topic ( By using different types of font) Slide four to nine -Content (all pictures should have proper animation and each slide should have different types of background color) Last slide Acknowledgement (It s must) Roll No 1 3:- Matter---Definition, Threes states of Matter with Explanation and examples. Roll No 4-6:- Arrangement of particles in different states of matter. Evaporation with examples Roll No 7 9:- Change of state---condensation, Melting and Freezing With explanation and examples. Roll No 10 12:- Igneous Rocks---Explanation, examples and uses. Roll No 13 15:- Sedimentary Rocks---Explanation, examples and uses. Roll No 16 18:- Metamorphic Rocks---Explanation, examples and uses. Roll No 19 21:- Expansion and contraction---explanation and Examples. Roll No 22 24:- Minerals---Explanation, Uses of Rocks and Minerals. Roll No 25 28:- Soil---Explanation, Formation, Composition and Soli Profile.
6 Project Guidelines- SOCIAL STUDIES Compulsory for all students. The project should be for slides. Slide -1- Title of the Project (By using word Art). Slide 2- Index (By using Table). Slide 3- Introduction of your topic (By using different types of font). Slide 4 to 13 should be focused on the Content presentation. While preparing/elaborating the content on slides 4-to 13 - Each slide must have one picture on the given topic and a brief explanatory note (of not more than 20 words) below that. Slide -14 Acknowledgement slide. Slide 15 (Last slide) Bibliography (It s must). Add animation to each slide. 1. Revise the chapters done in the class. 2. Roll No. 1-5 Prepare a Powerpoint Presentation on the various tools used in reading map. ( refer ch-2) One slide should have two tools to be discussed. Discuss the same in not more than 2-3 sentences. Illustrations should be appropriate to the content.
7 Roll No Prepare a Powerpoint Presentation on the Comparison of old and modern means of communications. ( refer ch-10) Each slide should have comparison of one type of mode of communication. Illustrations should be appropriate to the content. Roll No Prepare a Powerpoint Presentation on the Comparison of old and modern means of transport. ( refer ch-9) Each slide should have comparison of one type of mode of transport i.e. old and modern means of transport (Road or Airways or Water) Discuss the developments in not more than 2-3 sentences. Illustrations should be appropriate to the content. Roll No Prepare a Powerpoint presentation on the Various developments in Medical science and the instruments used by the doctors. ( refer ch-12) Each slide should have not more than two developments or instruments to be discussed. Illustrations should be appropriate to the content.
