Instructions for the Holiday Homework Bring Holiday Homework in a beautifully decorated scrap file with the cover page aesthetically done. Parents are requested to only guide their children while doing the assignment. Originality of the work will be appreciated. Homework will be assessed on the basis of neatness, creativity and originality of ideas. PREPARATION Students making a Scrap file to keep the following points in mind. Students to take a blank coloured scrap file having A4 size sheets. It is mandatory to give illustrations based on the chapter. Handwriting should be neat and tidy. 1. Science Activity-1 Types of Waste Find out the difference between the kinds of waste and study their proper disposal method. Materials required: fallen leaves, vegetable peels, a plastic waste, paper, any metal waste, soil, 5 pots, A4 sheets. Procedure: 1.Take 5 pots. 2. Put leaves, paper, vegetable peels, plastic and metal waste separately into each pot. 3. Cover with soil. 4. Observe the changes that have happened after a month and note down in an A4 sheet. 5. Categorise them into 2 types of waste based on their decomposition. 6. Find out the correct disposal method of each kind of waste. (Refer to 3 R s) 7. Click pictures of your activity and paste them in your project report. Undisposed garbage may cause harm to environment as well as human health. Collect information about it from newspapers and paste in A4 sheets.

5 Activity-2 Environment A number of human activities are causing harm to the environment and adversely affecting it. List and paste pictures of any five such activities that are changing our environment. Identify them as Reversible/irreversible changes. Suggest ways (at least 5) to reverse the adverse effects of these activities and how they can benefit our environment. Supplement your work with suitable pictures or articles from newspapers.
