Cover with clear machine postmark BIRMINGHAM / 1 30PM / 21 JLY / 1941 and showing age - opened at top, missing back top flap, mailed in wartime to Australia, discoloured at edges, and a little creasing - a somewhat battered 70+ years survivor! The person preparing these covers pen inscribed "1st day cover / July 29th 1948" on each cover. The 3d block of 4 has been affixed upside down. The stamps are cancelled Nukualofa Tonga CDS 12 OC.38 with the cancel just overlapping the stamp on the cover.
