1 A Brunch of Daffodils 2009 Show Report On March 28-29, 2009, the Greater St. Louis Daffodil Society s annual daffodil show, A Brunch of Daffodils was held at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, MO. The horticulture and design displays were both shown in the Beaumont Room. The Design portion of the show had 10 separate adults and 4 youth exhibitors. Best Design of the show was won by Robin Gosnell. Robin portrayed her eggs poached in this Class 1 entry for How Do You Like Your Eggs?. The Best Youth Design was won by Chris Raymond for his The Donut Shop design, while Grace Raymond and George Pratt each won blue ribbons for their Class 7 entries for The Donut Shop. Grace Raymond, Chris Raymond and Emma Pratt each won blue ribbons for their entries in the Class 6 designs for My Favorite Cereal. Robin Gosnell also won the Design Sweepstakes award after receiving another blue ribbon for her Class 5 entry of Fruit Basket. Lynn Slackman won the blue ribbon for Toast, her Class 2 design. Suzanne Raymond took a blue ribbon for her Class 3 entry I Need a Drink, which portrayed a tea pot, and Jim Morris won the miniature design blue ribbon for A Dollop, a Smidgen, a Squeeze or a Splash. The Horticulture portion of the show had 14 participants with 264 exhibits that contained 590 blooms. Although this was an early show this year, plenty of wonderful flowers were staged in the Beaumont Room at the Missouri Botanical Garden. There were also three photographic entries displayed at this year s show. Suzanne Raymond won the blue ribbon for her Class 3 entry for Daffodils with People.
