9 LWL Fisheries Monitoring Northern LWL In August; 56 Taxa of fish and invertebrates more than 3,700 animals were collected including 10 economically important species such as Juvenile shrimp (195) Gray Snapper (14) Blue Crab (8), Mullet (3), Bonefish (2), Mutton Snapper (2), Lane Snapper (2) Snook (1), Sheepshead (1), 35 tax, 2,742 Central Lagoon / 39 tax / 966 Northern Lagoon.

11 Sea Turtle Research in the Lake Worth Lagoon ERM has partnered with Inwater Research Group since 2005 to study juvenile sea turtles in the LWL. Estimate abundance Rip rap shoreline, add fill; build mangrove planters and replant maritime hammock. Estimate size distribution Determine population origin Document the prevalence of disease Diet

12 Sea Turtle Research in the Lake Worth Lagoon Primarily juvenile green turtles Average of 22.5 turtles/km 2 Highest density of turtles in Eastern Florida Rip rap shoreline, add fill; build mangrove planters and replant maritime hammock. Average of 33 cm in length (juveniles) ~70% of turtles showed signs of fibropapillomatosis Turtles came from natal beaches in Florida, Mexico, Costa Rica and Cuba
