5 A NASIRE Since February 2016 nasire is joining two worlds with Zurich as the cradle of design and Marrakech as the center of production and retail. Powerful, clear lines not only represent the design but also reflect Marrakech s architecture. It is architecture, unlike fashion, that outlives short-term trends and this is why the classic and minimalist pieces are striving to take after architecture. Architecture and its sharp lines are not only source of inspiration when it comes to the design. nasire aspires to share the same architectural vision when it comes to longevity. To live up to it, the carefully selected materials are being transformed into distinguished pieces through elaborate craftsmanship. nasire s work is the tangible outcome of an incessant exchange of knowledge and cultural backgrounds, which leaves its marks on both the products and the newly opened store in Marrakech s Medina. Moroccan marble, cedarwood and linen paired with a clean and minimalist interior design replicate the idea of the product design.

6 B PRODUCTION Every nasire piece is a joining of Swiss perfectionism and Moroccan craftsmanship that draws from a centuries old tradition in leather production and processing. nasire chose to move away from mass production and machine automation and to return to human work and its invaluable qualities that have been deemed flawed by a cost-cutting driven economy. Because immaculate leather lays the foundation to an immaculate product, the hides are examined twice in the tannery before the best calfskins find their way to the atelier. The quest of finding an atelier that was able to meet the requirement of perfection took two years. Eventually, it was Youssef and his craftsmen exhibiting a balance of dedication and pragmatism, 30 years of experience in leather craftsmanship and their reliability who beyond all doubt were able to create everlasting pieces. The dedication to the product is not only reflected by the materials used and the craftmanship transforming them but also by the attention that is attributed to detail. The zips and threads are made by YKK and Gütermann, two companies with a long-standing tradition in their respective trade.

8 C STORY nasire was born out of a desire to establish something of our own, to be the master of our days, without a superior, in autonomy. nasire is born out of the courage to enter a venture that is rewarded with self-determination. We are a young generation to which all doors stand open, who chooses to free itself from social constraints and who reclaims the world is yours. In our world in which freedom and self-determination are the highest goods, borders are nothing but obstacles that are to be overcome both the political and cultural ones. Travelling is inherent part of our lives. Home a feeling that we carry with us and isn t bound to a place. Behind the decision to produce in Marrakech lies no analysis, no business plan, no marketing strategy, not even that the city looks back on centuries of tradition in leather craftsmanship was of importance. The only thing that mattered was the overwhelming feeling that everything was possible in this city.
