The inspiration for the AAI made with love collection started during a trip that Annemarie (creator AAI) made through South East Asia and a love for vintage, raw and natural materials. AAI made with love attempts to work as much as possible with natural, recycled vintage materials and wants to be as sustainable as possible. To make maximum use of the crop flax is not mowed, but harvested with the roots. After the harvest the flax is drawn up in a hedge to dry. The seeds are removed when the plants are dry. After drying the flax exposed to moisture to break down the pectins that hold the fibers together. For ecological reasons, the flax is retted by spreading it out over the field, where it is exposed to rain, dew and sunshine for several weeks. Here after the fibers are separated from the straw. Short fibers are used for spinning rope and coarse yarns; the fine, long fibers deliver the finest linen yarn. Spinning is stretching long or short fibers to ribbon that is twisted in a certain direction to connect the fibers. Then the ribbons are spun to yarn with the spin machine. With this yarn, the lapping can be woven which makes the cushions and throws eventually

First he applies vertical strokes carefully followed by horizontal layers for a special effect. After the first layers are applied the rug is air-dried.
