1 ICECAST MSS TOOL KIT ANATOMY Icecast Anatomy represents a further development of the pressurecasting concept. Contour Cell shaping-chambers positioned over soft tissue areas can be inflated independently to achieve displacement of the tissue creating a more anatomically correct socket shape. The increased control over the socket shape enhances user comfort, stability and rotation control. As the residual limb is "loaded" by the pressurecasting instrument during casting, it is possible to eliminate the need for modification of the resultant socket shape. The system provides a simpler and more durable socket fabrication tool than the Icecast Anatomy as it does not contain the Contour Cell technology. Socket fabrication is therefore simpler and modifications of the anatomical shape are minimal, without affecting user comfort. 4 ICECAST MSS MATERIALS The Pressure Pads are designed to reduce peak pressures in sockets due to prominent bony areas. Made from a non-compressible silicone that optimizes pressure redistribution, pressure pads can improve the comfort of laminated, thermoformed or directly manufactured sockets such as the Modular Socket System.
