The idea is to consider some topics first, before reading Next to each topic, you mark whether you think the given statement will be true or false You do this before reading or researching the topic Then, throughout your research, you see if your original predictions were correct or not

Agree Disagree Statement Were you right? STEM fields have no impact on the health care industry. Farming/Agriculture has been improved by STEM research. Jobs related to STEM are boring and require workers to do the same task everyday. In the coming years, STEM fields will be the fastest growing job market. (Easy to get a job) Creative people such as artists should not pursue a STEM related career.
5 What is STEM? STEM is an acronym that stands for: SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS STEM programs aim to blend science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to create 21 st century learning opportunities and skill development

Any field or career that: Creates, discovers, or applies new knowledge to make life better for all STEM careers: Search for new information/methods to understand our world better Work efficiently to solve the world s problems Require people to be innovative Force people to ask why and how about tomorrow

9 Benefits of STEM Careers STEM Careers are: Cutting edge (performing new and exciting tasks) Profitable (make lots of money!!) In demand (easy to find a job) Valuable to society Are highly respected
