2 The 20th Annual Meeting of Institute of Applied Plasma Science The 6th International Workshop on Plasma Application and March 8 11, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia IAPS Meeting in Malaysia The 6th International Workshop on Plasma Application and August, 2012 Dear Participants: The 20th Annual Meeting of IAPS, and the 6th International Workshop on Plasma Application and will be held at Park Royal Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 8(F) -11(M) in. This event follows the First International Workshop held in Dalian, China in March 2008, the Second held in Kobe, Japan in March 2009, the Third in Busan, Korea in February 2010, the Forth held in Melbourne, Australia in March 2011, and the Fifth held in Taipei, Taiwan in March The IAPS Meeting has been held annually in Japan since the establishment. The first meeting was held in Osaka members of IAPS participate in the annual meeting every time from all over Japan and present the front data related on the Applied Plasma Science and discuss with each other about the mutual issues on the various plasma applications and so on. The topics of IAPS Meeting focus mainly on plasma applications, including applications in microelectronics and application to environmental problems, as well as applications of other high-energy sources, such as electron, ion and laser beams. We, this time also, expect that many research results will be presented and a lot of questions and answers, and moreover valuable discussions will be there. We would like to invite you to participate in the IAPS Meeting : the 6th International Workshop on Plasma Application and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 8(F) -11(M) in. 4 Guide to IAPS Meeting & International Workshop in Kuala Lumpur [Language] The official language for the conference will be English. [Registration] All the participants should pay the following Registration Fee at the registration desk. Registration will be open at the Park Royal Kuala Lumpur on March 8-9. Member of IAPS Regular Reg. Fee for student Registration Fee 30,000 yen 36,000 yen 16,000 yen Pre-Registration 28,000 yen 33,000 yen 15,000 yen (up to Jan.25, ) Note: Registration fee does not cover the meals (lunch, banquet, etc.). Fee for an accompanying person (companion) is 10,000 yen. Student who is not accompanied by the regular participant should pay the regular registration fee. For student, the registration fee does not include the proceedings (2,000 yen for a copy). Each registrant can submit only one paper. All payment for pre-registration should be made in Japanese Yen. 5 Proceedings Proceedings of the IAPS Meeting will be published prior to the symposium. All the manuscripts (1 or 2 pages length) submitted before the deadline will be published in the journal Plasma Application & Hybrid Functionally Materials, Vol.22, (ISSN ) by the IAPS at the time of the workshop. The guideline for preparation of manuscript will be sent to prospective authors at a later date and the deadline of the manuscript for the proceedings is January 25,. Late manuscripts may not be accepted for publication in the Proceedings of IAPS meeting, Plasma Application &, Vol.22,. [Frontier of Applied Technology, Volume 6] Authors of selected papers presented at the International Workshop will be invited to submit 4-6 pages length, peer-refereed manuscripts for publication in the Journal Frontier of Applied Plasma Technology (ISSN ) by IAPS. The publication fee for this journal is 20,000 yen. The method for contributing to Frontier of Applied Plasma Technology Vol.6 No.2 will be informed to the authors who intend to submit papers. Also the article preparation guide for the proceedings will be sent to the prospective authors at a later date. [Program] The program of the IAPS Meeting & the International Workshop will be prepared by the middle of Feb., after the Manuscripts are accepted by Jan. 25,. Plenary Session and more number of Oral Sessions are planned during the conference period. Both oral and poster presentations will be included in the conference program. Student should essentially present in poster presentation. This program is subject to change without notice to the participants. [Excursions] Sightseeing tour in Kuala Lumpur will be planned in the afternoon of March 10,. The details of the post conference tour will be suggested at a later date. Some optional tours will also be prepared by the travel agency. [Accommodation] A number of rooms of the Park Royal Kuala Lumpur have been reserved for the IAPS meeting and the International Workshop. The room charge will be different for the room types. Participants will receive further announcement from the organizing committee. [Location & Transportation] Park Royal Kuala Lumpur is just 500 meters from shopping areas such as Bintang Walk and Sungei Wang Plaza. Petronas Twin Towers is approximately 1.5 km away. Chinatown, which is along Petaling Street, is 3 km from the hotel. It is just 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
