1 KST 2017 The th International Conference on Knowledge and Smart Technology KST International Conference has been established with the aim in mind that a sustainable community will be achieved through continuous studies and share resources. It provides a central forum for experts and developers to promote, share, and discuss various issues and developments in the broad field of Computational Intelligence, Intelligent Application, Intelligent Computer Networks and Systems, and Emerging Intelligent Technologies. KST International Conference will provide an opportunity for young researchers to demonstrate their talent and interesting research ideas. The conference will benefit people who are actively involved in research related to computational intelligence and its applications. The 9 th KST was held at The Amari Ocean Hotel, Chon Buri, Thailand on February 1 4, Visit the official website at KST 2017 was organized by 13 working units from 11 institutes including Burapha University, Chulalongkorn University, Sripatum University at Chonburi, Khon Kaen University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Assumption University, Prince of Songkla University, Rajmangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Chanthaburi Campus, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (Korea), Telecom Bretagne, French, Toyohashi University of Technology (Japan), and Waseda University (Japan) Reported by K. 2 There are a number of institutes who give a financial support including Software Industry Promotion Agency (Public Organization) or SIPA, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), and Faculty of Informatics, Burapha University. In addition, the KST 2017 was also technically supported by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Thailand Section (IEEE Thailand Section), and Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology Association of Thailand (ECTI Association Thailand). KST 2017 Statistics 121 papers submitted from 14 countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, Germany, Iceland, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand. 70 papers accepted (acceptance rate of 57.85%) 18 oral sessions (3 parallel sessions) 2 keynote speakers 150 participants from 15 countries attended to the conference Assoc. 3 KST 2017 Events KST 2017 keynote speech was given by Prof. Dr. Katsumi Watanabe, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University Tokyo, Japan, on the topic " Explicit and Implicit Aspects of Human Cognition and Behavior", and Prof. Dr. Thomas Mandl, Faculty of Information Science, University of Hildesheim, Germany, on the topic " Text Mining, Patent Retrieval and its Evaluation: Finding paths in the Labyrinth between Legal and Technical Challenges". KST 2017 special sessions and workshops were also organized as follows: Special Session on "Cognitive Science and Human Perception", by Prof. Dr. Katsumi Watanabe from Waseda University / the University of Tokyo, Japan and Prof. Dr. Roberto Caldara, University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Special Session on "Image Processing, Computer Vision, Human Perception, Knowledge-based System and its Applications", by Dr. Montri Phothisonothai, International Collage, King Mongkut s Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, Thailand.
