Qualifications: B.Eng(Hons) & PhD in civil engineering at University of Wollongong (NSW) Background/Experience: Has more than 19 years of experience in industry and later in academic field. He is currently Chairman of IEM Technical Committee in drafting the Malaysian National Annex for Eurocode 8 on Earthquake Design Standard. He sits in Drafting Committees on standards for concrete design and wind load design. Qualifications: B.Sc (Civil Eng); PhD in Civil Eng. from University of Salford (UK) Background/Experience: Prof. Kousay has extensive academic and industrial experience in Malaysia and abroad. His main interest in research is in structural engineering covering; i)reinforced concrete structures : shear and bending moment design and confined concrete; ii) High performance concrete and the use of additives in concrete; iii) Project management, asset management and structures reliability management related to EN 1990 Eurocode; iv) Earth quake engineering reference to EN 1998 Eurocode 8 and other current international codes of practice and v) any other potential topics in the field of civil engineering design and construction. kousay@segi.edu.my

2 Research areas: Membrane fabrication and separation; wastewater treatment technology and haemodialysis. Qualifications: Bachelor & PhD in Chemical Bioprocess Engineering (UTM) Background/Experience: She has more than six years research experience in membrane fabrication and its separation. She received a grant in year 2011 on formulating high performance polyacrylonitrile membranes for wastewater treatment. As the outputs of the research, several intellectual properties have been published. Currently, she is also doing research collaboration works on extracting essential oil for cosmetic use and developing computational model for membrane filtration. mkchan@segi.edu.my Research Areas: 1) Heatsink design for effective thermal management 2) Turbine blade design for vertical axis wind turbine. 3) His latest research interest lies in the area of cold pasteurization, using ozone to kill bacteria and at the same time preserve the nutrients of the product (in fluid form). Qualifications: PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Background / Experience: Dr Chia obtained both his Bachelor Degree (Hons) (2004) & PhD (2008) in Mechanical Engineering in The University of Sheffield before joining SEGi University in His PhD research was funded by Rolls Royce, aiming to improve the damping behaviour of generic aeroengine fan blade using a mathematical algorithm; namely the Celular Automata algorithm. Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering in Materials & Master of Engineering Science (UM); PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS). Background/Experience: He was awarded the 2012 Endeavour Fellowship Award to conduct research on the detoxification of hydrocarbon compound in oil spill using nanoparticles in Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. He is the Cluster Head for Engineering & Technology and holds an internal research fund grant. Research Areas: Photonics and Optical Fibre Communication Devices Qualifications: PhD in Electrical Engineering (UM) Background / Experience: Dr. Cheng graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Applied Physics in University of Malaya. Thereafter, she continued her postgraduate studies with the University, collaborating with Photonic Research Centre, by then she earned her Master of Science degree, majoring in Photonics and Optical Fibre Communication devices. She specializes in optical light source and multi-wavelength Brillouin Erbium Fiber laser for DWDM system. She was an Optical Engineer for camera modules company and had developed various optical tests for product characterization from design to manufacturing stage. Thereafter, she pursued PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, researching on Photonics devices, wideband optical amplifier. 4 Programme: PhD (Environmental Sciences) Research areas: low carbon economy research and development Qualifications: PhD (Air Pollution and Vegetation) from University of Sheffield. Background/Experience: Muhamad Awang is Vice Chancellor of SEGi University, and also an Emeritus Professor of Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).Just before he assumed to the present position, he served as an advisor and member of think-tank group to the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia on Research, Development, and Commercialization, and he chaired Technical Committee for the establishment of Public Research Universities. His primary research, teaching and consulting focuses on impacts of atmospheric pollutants and climate change on ecosystem physiology of tropical rain forests and agricultural crops, and also serves as Chairman of National TC 207 Sub-Committee 5 on Life Cycle Assessment. He is a recipient of Langkawi Award for year 2000 and Fellow of Academy Sciences Malaysia and served as a Council Member. Background/Experience: Her main research area is on the application of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) to degrade pollutants in water and wastewater. He also has working experience in both industry and R&D. He has published various journal articles and presented his research work in international conferences. He is an active reviewer for several journals in environmental engineering and chemical engineering. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers (India), member of Associate in Cisco Certified Networks and member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Prior to his academic career, who has worked 3 years in the IT Industry and has taken on many roles from Software Development and Networks Implementation. 6 Programme: PhD & MSc (Information Technology) Research Area: Computer-generated animation (CGA) Qualification: LL.B (Hons); M.Sc; Ph.D in Information Management (2006) Background / Experience: Dr. Norriza Hussin had analysed evidence which have been used by the animator to generate an animation. Her thesis involves an inter-disciplinary research on the computer-generated animation (CGA) as a method to present evidence in the courtrooms. She has identified evaluation matrix to assess the degree of reliability and accuracy of an animation. She was involved in a consultancy work proposing the use of CGA in the courtrooms in Malaysia and had presented it at the "2007 Annual Conference of the Prosecution Division" organized by the Attorney General Chambers, Malaysia. norriza@segi.edu.my Programme: PhD & MSc (Information Technology) Research Area: Artificial intelligence, machine learning and optimization problems Qualification: B.Sc (Comp.Sc); MSc; PhD from UPM (2013) Background / Experience: Dr Ashley worked as a graduate research assistant in Intelligent Systems and Robotics Laboratory in Institute of Advanced Technology (UPM) before joining SEGi University in January She studied Smart Technology and Robotics Engineering for her PhD. Her research interests are artificial intelligence, machine learning and optimization problems.
