2 Location GALICIA The Technology Centre AIMEN was set up in 1967 as a non-profit private association in order to increase the level of competitiveness in the local industry. Today, located in Porriño-Pontevedra in the Northwest of Spain, our Technology Centre provides industry all over Europe and beyond with technological services and engages in R&D&i activities. The Technology Centre AIMEN is a highly professionalized organisation with more than 200 employees being the main Spanish knowledge centre in the field of Materials and Joining Technologies. 3 Research Lines Understands Business Needs The Technology Centre AIMEN is a reference centre for Materials and Joining Technologies. 110 R&D&i projects have been administered in 2007, approximately 2/3 of all R&D&i projects are being implemented in collaboration with the industry. Monitoring of manufacturing processes Laser Assisted Forming Online control of manufacturing processes by Non Development of high performance materials Destructive Testing Metallic based composites Design and development of new inspection techniques Ultra high elasticity steels AIMEN is located in the Northwest of Spain, Galicia, an industrialised area hosting the most productive automotive plant in Europe, numerous automotive suppliers, Europe s largest fishing port, and the largest private shipyards in Spain. In posters and presentations on R&D results were given at international conferences. Research activities need to be developed within a solid network of technology partners. AIMEN has agreements with Technology Centres, Institutes, Universities, and Suppliers.
