According to a GfK study in December 2015, 82 % of consumers have already heard of this concept. 8 The Story of WEEN 2014 marks the beginning of the WEEN adventure with the founding of the company and the filing of the patent...a patent protecting WEEN's 19 technological innovations, which make possible a completely new experience: for the first time, the temperature varies according to how far you are away from home, and the device, which works with all types of heating, learns your weekly habits is also the year when Nathanaël and Jean-Laurent meet Eric Burkel, an American who introduces them to crowdfunding. The two co-founders like the idea and decide to launch, along with their new-found associate, a fund-raising campaign on KissKissBankBank, the top French crowdfunding platform. The test is a great success: WEEN becomes the site's biggest campaign for a connected object. 2015, WEEN receives an Innovation Award on its first appearance at CES in Las Vegas, placing it in the the world's 30 most innovative startups. The effects are dramatic: $2M raised in funds, an invitation from the Sony Music Label to appear in the clip «Je te pardonne» by Maître Gims feat Sia, and dozens of interviews given on the subject of connected comfort. The general public are convinced, as are professionals such as the major DIY chainstore Leroy Merlin, which awards WEEN the 2016 Innovation Prize. Oct 2016, Hundreds of pre-orders, placed on are delivered, before the official launch. Dec 2016, WEEN is commercialized in France and appears on the shelves of the major High Tech and DIY stores. To ensure the launch, the total number in the team is increased to fifteen (Head Office Aix-en Provence & Paris office). 8

9 Nathanaël Munier, Co-Founder & CTO After graduating at the Arts et Métiers, Nathanaël Munier started his career with Air Liquide, before spending a year in the Antarctic managing Paul Emile Victor's geophysics laboratory. He then moved on to direct drilling projects around the world, notably in Singapore. Nathanael had a first start-up experience in 2005, when he took part in the founding of Ergelis, a pioneer of energy management for commercial buildings. He remained with the company for seven years, at the end of which it had reached maturity with 20 employees. In 2013, Nathanaël decided to explore the needs of the general consumer, and contacted his old ENSAM colleague Jean- Laurent Schaub. They imagined a thermostat as self-operating as possible, to economize a maximum for each home. The dream became reality in 2014 with the founding of WEEN. Today, Nathanaël is CTO. He is in charge of R&D at WEEN, where his co-founder is Jean-Laurent Schaub. 9

10 Jean-Laurent Schaub, Co-founder & CEO Arts et Métiers engineer with a Master's degree in Quality Management, Jean-Laurent started his career in the maintenance department at Ortec, where he was Business Manager, Quality Manager, and finally Agency Director. He joined VINCI Energies in 2005 as Director for Nuclear Activity, and became Brand Director in The activity developed until he was managing a network of subsidiaries with 6,000 employees in 11 countries, with a turnover of 500 M. He represented VINCI Energies as associate member of the Institute for Energy Transition, Paris- Saclay Energy Efficiency (PS2E), and was on the Enedis Strategy Committee for the creation of the Linky intelligent electricity meter. In 2015 he left the VINCI group to work full-time at WEEN, which he had co-founded the previous year 10with Nathanaël, his old colleague from Engineering College. Today, Jean-Laurent is CEO of WEEN. 10
