From: "Jean L. Lea" <jeanlea@cox.net> Subject: The Attic's 2009 Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Research - Part 2 Date: November 11, 2009 8:05:38 AM GMT-07:00 To: Recipient list suppressed: ; 43 Attachments, 1.9 MB It's coming, Saturday night, November 21, 6 ~ 8 PM...... our 12th Annual Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Research, with all proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Here's more of the incredible donations that we've received, all to help us raise more than $15,000+ this year. Auction rules were set forth in Part 1, most specifically, in order to accept "absentee" bids we must have your credit card information on file, along with all contact information for you. Payment, however, should be by checks made payable to the BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation). If you missed Part 1, please go to our Web site to see it: http://www.atticneedlework.com/silentauction/20091106_newsletter_auction_p1-web.pdf Please note that MOB stands for Minimum Opening Bid. We begin with our three Opportunity Ticket Items: First, Item 253, a beautifully beaded treetop angel, showing you both the front and back views. This item also includes the stand if you wish to display it other than atop a tree. Opportunity tickets are $10 each. Please specify that you are purchasing tickets for Item 253.
Item 254: Abigail Colby's Work Basket + the 7 needlework smalls. This stunning collection of needlework smalls was the collaborative effort of a number of the members of the Mayflower Sampler Guild. Both the needlework and the finishing combine to make an heirloom set that anyone would be thrilled to display. The cartouche is stitched with Abigail Colby's initials, but the finishing was done in such a way so that the cartouche can easily be removed and a personalized one substituted. This is also true for the basket fob with its initials.
Opportunity tickets for this item are $20 each. Please specify Item 254. You may purchase as many opportunity tickets as you'd like if you wish to increase your "opportunity" on this truly remarkable donation. Thank you, all of you in the Mayflower Sampler Guild, who so generously donated their time and/or materials for the completion of this piece. Item 255, Needlework Garden Basket + the Matching Snips Basket + the Matching Accessories
This beautiful set is part of what we have denominated in this year's event as Sue's Legacy. She might have lost her battle with the dreaded disease, research for which this auction event benefits, but her needlework survives and continues her fight for her. Under the coordinating efforts of a needlework friend, Barbara, many of Sue's stitched but unfinished items were gathered and then distributed by dozens of willing volunteers and now are a part of this year's auction. Opportunity tickets for Item 255 are $10. Please specify Item 255 when making your purchase. Item 15 appears again because the photo and the description were out of synch, and so here it is again: Rooster scissors, needle threader & counter with beaded fobs. MOB, $25
