1 Lesson Plan Tutor: A Chippy Room Number: Programme: Up-skilling Date: Course code & title: Joinery Up-skilling Session Title: Joinery Up-skilling Course duration: 19.5 hours (3 days) Attendance: 9am to 4.30pm (15 minute breaks x 2 and 30 minute lunch) Overall aims session To up-skill existing trades persons (non-joinery) in basic joinery skills in order to carry-out basic joinery tasks in the work place Session objectives At the end the session learners will be able to: Explain and apply basic joinery safety Work safely with specific joinery hand and power tools Carry out basic joinery skills: Form joints Fit ironmongery and locks Carry out general internal joinery maintenance to: Architrave and skirting Internal and external doors Pipe boxing Install and repair kitchen units and worktops Demonstrate good practice in basic joinery skills Explain how to safely dispose joinery waste material Explain how to deal with customers when carrying out joinery Assessment strategies How will you & the learners know they have (fully/partly/not) achieved the objectives? practical Summative multi-choice knowledge
