BLANCO Durinox an innovation in stainless steel that impresses absolutely. Extremely hard and highly resistant to scratches. The Durinox stainless steel surfaces obtain these special characteristics in a new finishing process that is used in aerospace technology and has now been extensively developed by BLANCO. The material is shaped by being blasted with around a billion stainless steel spheres at a speed of slightly less than 300 km/h. 46 Stainless steel work surfaces: the material, cleaning and care. BLANCO STEELART stainless steel worktops are manufactured from high-quality nickel-chromium steel. Stainless steel is the classic material and its material property means that it offers almost boundless design options. The seamless integration of sinks and additional functional elements creates the elegant impression that everything is cast in a single piece. Regular maintenance, e.g. using BLANCO POLISH, makes the surface increasingly robust: scratches merge into the surface; the surface becomes less impervious to fingerprints. Thanks to its smoother texture, the finely brushed surface BLANCO STEELART Satin Polish is easier to clean and care for than the more roughly sand brushed surface BLANCO STEELART Satin Matt. Tips for everyday use: Under unfavourable conditions, objects which fall onto the work surface can damage the surface. Do not place excessively hot saucepans or pans directly on the worktop. Do not cut food directly on the worktop, in order to prevent deep scratch marks. We recommend our cutting boards which are available as optional extras for this purpose. Avoid sliding hard or sharp-edged objects (e.g. heavy cooking utensils) over the worktop. General cleaning and maintenance recommendations for STEELART stainless steel worktops: Avoid cleaning agents containing chloric and hydrochloric acid. Regularly remove dirt and limescale deposits. 48 Cleaning and Care. Stainless steel surfaces satin polish and satin matt. 1. Deep cleaning (for satin polish surface finishes) 2. Day-to-day cleaning: We recommend that you clean and care for your worktop every 1-2 weeks with BLANCO POLISH. BLANCO POLISH makes daily cleaning easier and removes heavy dirt and limescale deposits. It seals the surface (water repellent property) and removes slight signs of wear and tear (scratches). BLANCO POLISH: Removes scratches Removes rust, marks and stains Water just rolls off the surface after use Prevents finger prints and other marks and dirt from settling Leaves a satin matt shine Care kit for stainless steel worktops, consisting of: 1 x BLANCO microfibre cloth 1 x BLANCO POLISH 1 x VILEDA sponge scratchless : A soft sponge or a damp cloth together with a normal cleaning agent are sufficient for daily cleaning. To remove limescale you may also use cleaning agents containing vinegar or lemon juice. BLANCO household tip: Clean with vinegar water (20% vinegar, 80% water) or with lemon juice dissolved in water. Special information Always clean in the direction of the grain and never in a circular motion because this can cause lasting changes to the structure of the surface. Intensive polishing of one point produces local changes to the degree of shine (especially with satin matt finish). Avoid cleaning agents containing chloric and hydrochloric acid. 49 Cleaning and Care. BLANCO Durinox stainless steel surfaces. 1. Deep cleaning We recommend deep-cleaning the worktop before using it for the first time, and after that every 3 4 weeks. 1. Apply a few drops of undiluted BLANCO Durinox Liquid to a soft sponge (e.g. the stainless steel sponge by VILEDA). BLANCO Durinox Liquid is a special deep cleaner. It removes serious dirt and limescale deposits, and makes daily cleaning easier. BLANCO Durinox Liquid: Loosens rust, marks and stains Makes it easier to remove fingerprints 2. Clean the worktop using circular movements and with pressure on the surface. BLANCO Durinox Liquid 250 ml bottle code Then remove all traces of the cleaning product and loosened dirt from the stainless steel surface with a microfibre cloth and plenty of water. 4. Wipe the worktop dry with a clean cotton or microfibre cloth. BLANCO Durinox Care Set for Durinox stainless steel worktops, consisting of: 1 x microfibre cloth 1 x BLANCO Durinox Liquid 250 ml 1 x sponge, non-scratch 2. Daily cleaning code All that is required for daily cleaning is a soft sponge or damp microfibre cloth. To remove limescale and light dirt, you can also use BLANCO Durinox Liquid or a vinegar or lemon cleaner. 51 TECHNICAL INFORMATION Stainless steel worktops and lateral panels Cut-out for inset hob or sink On worktops with SolidEdge edging, the minimum space to the cut-out increases at the front and side to 65 mm (25 mm overhang) or 75 mm (35 mm overhang). The recommended minimum worktop width is 650 mm The cut-out is based on the stainless steel, not on the core material. Please observe the manufacturer's instructions for installation.
