1 TF Model Jet Ranger 700 Assembly Instructions for Jet ranger 700 For Trex 700 E Thank you for purchasing TF Model's 700 Jet Ranger. Please read through this assembly manual carefully before proceeding with the assembly of tyour mechanic into the fuselage. Content List One main fuselage with factory installed wood formers.

2 Hatch, cover, tail boom, front doors and tail boom end cover. Vertical and horizontal stabilizers. Prewelded landing skid and exhaust pipes.

3 Vacuum formed PVC window panels and wind screen. Door hinges, screws and magnets.

4 Landing skid brackets, bolts and nuts and washers. Wire cutters. Wood formers for mounting the mechanic. For Trex 700 and 600 mechanics. Starting Assembly Landing Skid Assembly Locate the landing gear and parts in the photo.

5 As the landing skid comes pre welded, just slip the rear cross member into the fuselage recess and the landing skid will be correctly located. Centre the landing skid assembly and use the tabs to secure the rear of the landing skid. Drill 2 mm holes using the tab holes as template. Use the supplied scrap wood to glue inside the fuselage for the landing skid screws. Now proceed to do the front landing skid using the metal plate mounts. Again drill mounting holes using the bracket holes as templates. Again, use the wood scraps and glue them inside the fuselage for the front skid screws. IMPORTANT! When marking the location of the front landing skid mounting holes, remember to put them to the side of the mechanic mounting holes!

6 Scrap wood for landing skid mounting screws. Mechanic Installation Assembly Locate the 6 wood locking formers(f9) and glue 3 together to make a pair. Formers F9

7 Slide the 2 F9 assemblies into the base board as in the photo. Please note the orientation of F9 when dry fitting into the base board. Once you have the right fitting use ample epoxy and glue the former assembly F9 to the baseboard. Slot for formers F9 Note that the vertical slot is on the bottom of the baseboard. Slide the completed mechanic baseboard with the F9 formers onto the preinstalled base board inside the fuselage.

8 Disassemble the tail gear box on your mechanic and set it aside for now. Keep the tail boom on the mechanic. Also diassemble the front of the receiver tray and set it aside. With the mechanic baseboard sitting all the way inside and butt against the back of the fuselage base board, set the meahanic on top of the mechanic base board. With the mechanic sitting inside the fuselag, use the pre opened hole on the top hatch to locate the mainshaft.

9 Move the mechanic around to get the main shaft lined up and use a piece of tape to mark the location of the main shaft. Now locate the mechanic shims and shim the mechanic up until the tail boom is sitting at the desired height and angle. Once the tail boom is correctly aligned, temporarily fix the mechanic in place and slide the tail fuselage section over the tail boom to check that there is no binding or rubbing of the rudder control rod against the inside of the fuselage. Once you are satisfied with the location and height of the mechanic and that the tail boom is located correctly, you can now mount the rear of the mechanic to the Quick Lock Plate.

10 Fix the only rear of the mechanic to the Quick Lock Plate. Now proceed to glue the wood screw tabs into the tail boom on the main fuselage side as in the photo. The wood tabs are supplied in the kit or you can use scrap plywood as well. We recommend a minimum of 6 screws to fix the tail boom in place.

11 Use ample epoxy to glue the wood tabs. Slide the mechanic with the Quick Lock Plate into the mechanic. Do not slide the Quick Lock plate into the corresponding slot into the factory installed base plate yet. Rest the mechanic onto the base plate and push the mechanic as far back as it will go. You might need to spread the top of the fuselage to do this. Please spread the top of the fuselage carefully when you do this. Now slip on the tail fuselage boom and temporarily secure it to the main fuselage with tape.the tail boom should protrude beyond the taiol fuselage boom. See photo.

12 Now install the tail gear box onto the tail boom of the mechanic and hook up the tail pitch control rod to the pitch slider. You shoud now use a Dremel and make a hole on the side of the tail fuselage boom for the tail rotor. Depending on which side you choose to install the tail rotor, you will need to make the hole on the the side that you choose. Using the vertical tail fin prdrilled holes as template offer the vertical tail fin up to opposite side of the tail rotor and drill 2 holes for mounting the vertical tail fin. Remove material from the tail of the tail fuselage boom for the tail rotorusing a dremel. Photo shows the tailrotor mounting on the left side. Mounitng of the vertical fin. We recommend that you replace the Trex 700 tail gear box with a 600 tail gear box. TheTrex 600 and Trex 700 uses the same size of shaft adapter. It is a direct bolt on. You can also exchange the Trex 600 tail blade grips with the Trex 700 blade grips too. Also a direct bolt on.

13 If you are using the Trex 700 tail gear box you will need to make a hole on the other side of the tail fuselage boom as shown in the following photo. Photo shows the fit of the Trex 600 tail gearbox fitted onto the 700 tail boom. After the tail gear box and tail fuselage boom is sorted out, now wrap a thin sheet of foam around the tail boom and secure with tape. Then slide the mechanic forward and slide the mechanic with the Quick Lock Plate into the slots on the preinstalled baseboard.after the mechanic is sitting correctly on the base board in the Quick Lock Slots you can now drill holes for securing the tail fuselage boom to the main fuselage.

14 Tail fuselage fixing screws. Wrap a thin piece of foam around the tail boom before pushing the tail boom forward.

15 Now reinstall the front receiver tray that was removed earlier. After the tray is back on the mechanic, power up the receiver and check that all servos, especially the rudder servo are operating correctly. Now after everything has checked out and is operating correctly carefully mark the location of the front 2 holes for mounting the front of the mechanic. Open up 2 holes on the bottom of the front of the fuselage for screwing in the 2 X 3 mm fixing screws. Secure the front of the mechanic. Reinstall the plastic receiver tray. Top Hatch Cover Assembly You can choose your best method of fixing the two top hatches. We use 2 fixing pins at the rear of the rear hatch into the fuselage and screws to secure the front top hatch to both the main fuselage and the rear hatch. The red circles are screws and the yellow circles are where the fixing pins are located.

16 The red circles shows the fixing screws for the front top hatch at the front. After fitting the top front hatch, you might need to open up the swashplate hole in order to allow the swashplate to operate in all directions. Please do this carefully using a Dremel or file. Window Panel Assembly Now glue the window panels from the inside out. Please do dry fitting of all glazing first before gluing. Each window panel is unique and will fit only the correct opening. Door Hinge and Door Assembly Locate the supplied door hinges. There should be 4 sets. Assemble the door hinge parts into 4 sets. Door hinge parts.

17 One assembled door hinge. Tape the door panel onto the door opening temporarily. Please centre the door panel and make sure that the gap is even all around. Tape the door onto the fuselage opening. Make sure that it is centered in the door opening.

18 Locate and tape the door hinges onto the door panel and fuselage at locations that you desire.once satisfied with the location drill 1 mm holes on both sides of the hinge at the door panel and the wind screen pillar and secure with the supplied screws. There are 2 hinges per door. After screwing in the screws use a drop of glue to secure the screw on the inside. Locate the hinges onto the door panel and wind screen pillar. Use the hing hole as template and drill 1 mm holes in the door panel and wind screen pillar.
