The new Lucky 7s Game Book with six $1 million top prizes debuted on August 31 The new Lucky 7s Game Book is the first of its kind for the Maryland Lottery. The $20 ticket, which is comprised of six $5 tickets, is loaded with over $18 million in cash prizes. This ticket is unique in many ways: players receive six tickets for the price of four; there are six $1 million top prizes; and there are no prizes on the ticket less than $20. While the Game Book provides a ton of prizes and a great playing experience for players, it also benefits our valued retailers. Just like every other $20 ticket, you will receive a $1 commission for every $20 Game Book sold and $30 for every Game Book pack ($600 worth of tickets) sold. Remember, the Lucky 7s Game Book is considered a single ticket so please make sure to tell your customers not to tear the individual scratch-offs out of the book; the game is VOID if separated! Also, remember that the validation code is on page six of the game book. Lucky 7s Game Book is already proving to be a big seller, so be sure to give it the real estate it deserves and keep the sample ticket on the zip cord your sales rep has provided. And, as always, contact your sales rep for questions they will be happy to help! 5 Card Cash is Coming to Maryland! The Lottery is expanding its portfolio! Details are currently being finalized for 5 Card Cash, a new draw game. 5 Card Cash is a 5-of-52 poker-style game with a $2 price point and prizes up to $100,000. It is a quick pick only game which issues five numbers/suits from a field of 52 numbers/suits. The game requires no skill or knowledge of poker or other card games. 5 Card Cash offers two ways to win: an instant win feature with prizes of up to $10,000 and the evening drawing, which will take place seven-days-a-week. Please encourage players to hold on to their tickets until the evening drawing even if they ve won instantly! The game is expected to go live in November; your sales rep will provide you with all of the information you need for a successful launch. 2 Message from the Director: The days are a bit shorter, the air is a little cooler and things at the Lottery continue to get busier with the arrival of fall and its many new products and promotions. The Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off is on our roster once again with five $250,000 instant top prizes, plus the chance to win $1,000,000 cash, seats for life, away trips with the Ravens, and more in the Internet promotion. Exciting game changes include new monthly drawings and a Fan of the Game component. With all these great features, Ravens Cash Fantasy is already scoring a touchdown with players. We also have introduced the new Lucky 7s Game Book, which offers your Lottery customers six $5 tickets for only $20. Please stress to your Game Book players the importance of not detaching any of the Game Book tickets as the book must be intact in order to claim a prize. In other news, beginning September 17, Pick 4 fans have even more play options with the addition of our new combination wager. Then, on October 1, the Lottery s name will change to Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (LGCA). The new name reflects our responsibilities in regulating Maryland s casino and other gaming activities. And, on January 1, 2013, there will be another significant change, which you will find of particular interest. Your current 5% Lottery commission will rise to 5.5%, giving you even more incentive to encourage Lottery sales. Marty, Murals & More Are a Winning Combination for Ridgely Wine & Spirits Ridgley Wine & Spirits, located at 1752 York Road in Lutherville, is a retailer that clearly values its Lottery business. From the moment you approach the store, you can see the efforts that owner Marty Kutlik has taken to create an atmosphere that is conducive to Lottery play and fun for Lottery players. There s an outdoor Lottery bench where customers can relax and the special neon and vinyl window signage reminds the public that this is a great place for Lottery fans. Once inside the store, there are three monitors for Keno and Racetrax at the front of the establishment along with theatre-style seating for the ultimate in comfortable accommodations. Follow the custom signage that Marty has installed throughout the store to arrive at the Lottery Café which is appointed with a 3-D café sign, designer lighting and colorful murals of Lottery games and graphics. The fun and festive setting includes two more monitors displaying Lottery games, along with tables and chairs where customers can relax and engage in their favorite Lottery play. There s also a player activated terminal (PAT) for even greater ease of purchasing Lottery games. In business since 1986, Marty s love for Lottery has proven profitable with his sales increasing significantly as a result of his additional features and remodeling endeavors. 3 It s a Wonderful Incentive to Sell It s a Wonderful Life the Lottery s new $2 holiday ticket is our latest venture into the licensed product world and offers great ways to win for Lottery fans and for you too! This scratch-off will offer your players 12 chances at instant cash up to $20,000 and a second-chance contest will offer them even more. Beginning October 15, players who mail in two non-winning It s a Wonderful Life tickets will be entered into weekly drawings for $500 gift cards and a grand prize $10,000 shopping spree will be awarded at the end of the promotion. Plus, not only does this ticket have a second-chance contest for your players, but you, the retailer, can win too! If we pick a winning entry that includes tickets sold at your store, you could win up to $500.? You Ask... We Answer! Retailer Question: How do I find out what books are available, sold out, or no longer available? Answer: From your Extrema terminal, you can pull up a report that shows books that are available to order, and books that are out of the warehouse, but, still cashable. Simply go to reports, then inventory reports, then game names, and print out the list. When we determine a last activation date for a game, we send an 07 message through the terminal, and we send another message through the terminal for last date to claim prizes. You can receive a list of books with a last activation date and last date to claim prizes from your district sales rep. Retailer Question: My shipping invoice is missing. How can I receive my books? Answer: You can scan the barcode on the UPS label attached to the outside of the bag in which your books came. If you do not have your bag, you can call the Tel-Sell department at , and they will guide you through the process of manually entering your invoice number into the Extrema terminal. Retailer Question: I m trying to activate a book on the Extrema, and I am getting an error. What do I do? Answer: Before you can activate books, you must confirm the book. If the book is confirmed, then shut down the terminal, and bring it back up again. If you are still receiving an error trying to activate a book, call Tel-Sell, and they will help resolve the error. You should have the game number, and the book number available when calling Tel-Sell. A permanent addition to the Pick 4 lineup, the Pick 4 Combination Wager offers new bet types for the game.
