2 Bonus Week: Supply List Full Supply List In each week of activities, there s a supply list. You can quickly scan the list to see what you need for the week. Most items are supplies from the home (office, kitchen, kids toys, etc). Below is a list of supplies to do every activity in the Halloween Bonus Week. Craft Items: pencil marker washable marker paint white cardstock paper glue tape scissors googly eyes, sequins, feathers, stickers, etc. yarn string or yarn sticky notes hole punch Kitchen Items: pumpkin potatoes water muffin tin bowl knife Other: cotton swabs (q-tips) painter s tape wipe or water

3 Bonus Week: Activity Plan Monday: Make an yarn monster by dipping various colors of yarn in glue and covering the bottom of a muffin tin, let dry. Glue on a googly eye. Hang in a window to enjoy! Tuesday: Decorate a monster pumpkin with glue and googly eyes, sequins, feathers, stickers! Make it as scary, funny or pretty as desired! yarn glue water muffin tin bowl scissors googly eyes pumpkin googly eyes, sequins, feathers, stickers, etc glue Wednesday: Tape a spider web on a wall (or floor) and write sight words randomly on it. Write the same sight words on sticky notes. Pull off a sticky note to match to the spider web. tape or paper marker sticky notes 4 Thursday: Cut a potato in half and carve a face in the flesh of the potato with a knife. Dip the carved potato in paint and stamp it on paper over and over again. potatoes knife paint paper 5 Friday: Make three shapes with several cotton swabs each: Leave some straight, cut some in half, and bend some to form a C shape. Write Halloween words on a piece of paper and form each letter with cotten swabs to make the words! cotton swabs (q-tips) 6 7 Saturday: Draw a large spiral on a piece of white cardstock and cut along the line. Draw a ghost face in the center of the spiral and punch a hole above it. Thread a string through to hang. Sunday: Tape a large spider web on a hard surface floor. Trace a path through the spider web with a washable marker. Rip off pieces of the tape of the non-paths to make them impassable. Now it s time to find their way through the maze by drawing a path! white cardstock marker pencil hole punch string or yarn painter s tape washable marker wipe or water

4 Yarn Monsters yarn glue water muffin tin bowl scissors googly eyes Cut various lengths of yarn and stir into a mixture of glue and a tad bit of water in a large bowl. Place yarn to lightly cover the bottom of each section of the muffin tin. Let dry overnight (or in the oven at the lowest temp). Add a googly eye to each circle to make a monster. Be patient with them drying, it takes a long time. Line muffin tin with wax paper for easier removal. Hang them up in a window!

5 Monster Pumpkins pumpkin googly eyes, sequins, feathers, stickers, etc glue Clean off a pumpkin and dry completely. Start gluing on small decorative craft items such as googly eyes, sequins, feather, stickers or whatever you have. Make it as scary as you desire, or it can be a funny monster, or a pretty one! You can even add paint to the mix. I love monsters because they can be anything! For easier application, pour some glue in a dish and use a cotton swab or paintbrush to paint the glue on. Bonus - try and use part of a distorted pumpkin to make even more monsterish.

6 Spider Web Match tape or paper marker sticky notes Tape a spider web on a wall (or floor). Write sight words randomly on it and on sticky notes. Pull off a sticky note to stick it to it s match on the spider web. Instead of tape, you can use strips of paper to tape to the wall. Instead of sight words, try letters, or upper/lower letters, numbers, or just colors! You can even have your child write the sight words for practice!

7 Jack O Lantern Stamping potatoes knife paint paper Cut a potato in half. Carve a jack o lantern face in the flat, flesh part of the potato. Dip the carved potato in paint and stamp onto paper over and over. You can also paint the potato using a paintbrush instead of dipping it in paint. Use a paper towel to lightly stamp off excess paint before stamping on paper. Carve several different faces and talk about the emotions of the jack o lanterns.

8 Skeleton Bone Letters cotton swabs (q-tips) Make three shapes with several cotton swabs each: Leave some straight, cut some in half, and bend some to form a C shape. Write Halloween words on a piece of paper (BOO, CAT, GHOST). Use the cotton swabs to form each letter to make the words! For young toddlers, just using the cotton swabs in a Halloween sensory bin can be great fun! For additional fun, try to make the whole alphabet, or their name! Compare letters, do some use the same shapes of cotton swabs, but look different?

9 Spiral Ghost white cardstock marker pencil hole punch string or yarn Draw a large spiral on a piece of white cardstock, keeping the lines of the spiral a couple of inches apart. Cut along the line. Draw a ghost face in the center. Punch a hole above the ghost s face and thread a piece of string through to hang it on a light or in a doorway. Leave the center bigger than you think is necessary because that is the ghost s face. Use a large plate to start the circle if you need guidance. Kids can do this too! An adult will need to draw the spiral for young kids. A x piece of card stock will only have about spiral passes.

10 Spider Web Maze painter s tape washable marker wipe or water Tape a large spider web on a hard surface floor and trace a maze path through the spider web with a washable marker. Rip off pieces of the tape of the nonpaths to make them impassable and then wipe the marker off with a wipe or water. Now it s time to find their way through the maze by drawing a path! Only use painter s tape on wood floors, I recommend delicate surface. Try in an area that s hidden to test first. Make sure to use washable markers in case they get on the floor; I recommend Crayola Washable. If help is needed, write hints on the spider web that will get them started (like make dots ever once in awhile for them to get to on the correct path)
